Sunday 6th – Monday 7th September 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Thursday 3rd – Saturday 5th September 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Thursday The Spotted Sandpiper was still at Porth Hellick on rocks at the mouth of the bay and the Curlew Sandpiper was still on Porthloo Beach. A Melodious Warbler was photographed near Cadet Hut on the Garrison, a Whinchat was on the airport and a  Black Kite was over St. Read more…

Tuesday 1st – Wednesday 2nd September 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Tuesday The Spotted Sandpiper was still at Porth Hellick, where there were also, 9 Greenshank, a flyover Spotted Redshank, a Wigeon, a Kingfisher, a Cetti’s Warbler and a Whinchat. Friday 28th – Sunday 30th August – IoS Bird Sightings

Friday 7 European Storm-petrel and a Sooty Shearwater were seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s. Sunday 23rd – Thursday 27th August 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Sunday A juvenile Ruff and 5 Wheatear were on the airfield. At Porth Hellick 9 Greenshank, 2 Dunlin & 9 Ringed Plover were on the beach, a Common Sandpiper was on the Pool and a Cetti’s Warbler was in the bushes. A Crossbill was at Longstone. Tuesday A Balearic Shearwater flew past Peninnis Head and a Cory’s Shearwater was seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip to Penzance. Sunday 6 Whimbrel & 9 Greenshank were in Porth Hellick Bay and a Green Sandpiper flew over the airfield.
