Wednesday 15th – Thursday 16th April 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Wednesday Small numbers of all 3 hirundines were over Porth Hellick Pool. The Lesser Kestrel flew form the Airfield towards Porth Hellick Down, a Merlin was at the Golf Course and a probable first-winter American Herring Gull flew over Salakee. 3 Dunlin were & a Lapwing were on Porth Hellick Beach and a Bar-tailed Godwit, 3 Whimbrel & a Common Sandpiper were on Porthloo Beach. Monday 6th – Wednesday 8th April 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Monday The Lesser Kestrel was at Porth Hellick Down, a Merlin was on the Garrison and an Osprey was on St. Martin’s. The Hoopoe was still at Carn Friars, the Snow Bunting was again on Holgate’s Green and the Short-eared Owl was ranging from Old Town to Trewince. Monday 23rd – Thursday 26th March 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Monday – The Lesser Kestrel was still in the Porth Hellick Down, Deep Point area and the 2  Chough were seen flying past Porthloo. 5 Golden Plover, a Merlin & 10 Wheatear were on the Airfield. 2 Manx Shearwater  were seen from The Scillonian III, a Great Skua flew past Deep Point and a Black-tailed Godwit  was in a field on Peninnis. Thursday 19th March – Sunday 22nd March 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Thursday – The Lesser Kestrel was still on Porth Hellick Down. Around 30 Sand Martins were on St.Mary’s and single Swallow were seen at Longstone & Porth Hellick.
