Saturday 6th October 2012 IoS Bird Reports

Grey-cheeked Thrush – 1 was found on St. Agnes just before dusk and appeared to go to roost.

Syke’s Warbler – was still at Old Grimsby, Tresco.

American Buff-bellied Pipit – It was seen again on Peninnis.

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 was still at Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Red-rumped Swallow – 1 on St.Agnes.

Buff-breasted Sandpiper – 1 still present commuting between the airfield Peninnis.

Wednesday 3rd October 2012 IoS Bird Reports

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 was still at Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Baird’s Sandpiper – A wader that was probably this species was seen on Porth Hellick Beach before promptly disappearing.

Buff-breasted Sandpiper – 1 on Peninnis moved to the airfield and then back to Peninnis.

Coal Tit – The first record since 2008 of this genuine Scilly rarity was seen near the Seven Stones Inn on St. Martin’s. (more…)
