Sunday 13th April 2014 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – A possible first-winter Azorean Yellow-legged Gull was on the airfield, the Spotted Crake was still in Lower Moors and 7 Great Northern Divers were in The Roads. Tresco – 2 Purple Sandpipers, 30+ Sanderlings and 12 Curlews were in Tresco Channel. St. Martin’s – 3 Dotterel were on Chapel Down. Teän – 11 Curlews.

Thursday 10th April 2014 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – The Sora was still in Lower Moors  along with 2 Willow Warblers. The 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese were still at Porth Hellick, where there was also the first Sedge Warbler. 9 Wheatears were on Peninnis. Tresco – 3 Great Northern Divers, a Long-tailed Duck and a Ring Ouzel. St. Martin’s – The first Cuckoo of the year and a Ring Ouzel. Bryher – A Great Northern Diver, Read more…
