A selection from Monday’s log call:
Grey-cheeked Thrush – It was still on St. Agnes, still proving to be incredibly elusive, but showing occasionally other than early morning and late afternoon, giving birders from St. Mary’s a chance to catch up with it .
Red-eyed Vireo – 1 still in Apple Tree Glade on Bryher.
Dusky Warbler – 1 in Lower Moors.
Red-throated Pipit – 1 was in the cattle field behind the pine belt between Porth Hellick bank and Salakee down. Remarkably in the same field were 4 Water Pipits, a Rose-coloured Starling and a Serin flew over!
Little Bunting – 1 Porth Mellon and 1 Tresco.
Serin – 1 flew over Salakee.
Great White Egret – 1 on the beaches around Pendrathen then later retuning to Tresco.
Cattle Egret – 2 on Tresco.
Richard’s Pipit – 2 on the Airfield.
Cetti’s Warbler – 1 heard again at Porth Hellick and 1 on St. Agnes..
Water Pipit – 4 Salakee..
Rose-coloured Starling – 1 at Salakee and 1 on St, Agnes. (more…)
