Tuesday 4th October 2016 IoS Bird Sightings
A selection from Tuesday’s log:
Blyth’s Pipit – 1 was found near Longstone and then flew to the field were the Porth Hellick track meets Carn Friars Road.
Sora Rail – Still showing well from the Swarovski hide on Tresco.
Subalpine Warbler – 1 on St. Martin’s on the coastal path east of the campsite.
Cattle Egret – 2 birds started off at various sites on Tresco before moving to St. Mary’s in the afternoon and then back to Tresco.
American Golden Plover – 1 still on the St. Mary’s Airfield.
Buff-bellied Sandpiper – 1 still on the St. Mary’s Airfield.
Little Bunting – 1 was in the Peninnis Allotments.
Little Ringed Plover – 1 Old Town Beach.
Melodious Warbler – 1 was in gardens below Garrison House on Sallyport.
Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 Longstone, 1 Tresco and 1 St. Agnes.
Common Rosefinch – 1 on Bryher.
Wryneck – 1 Borough Farm, 1 Green Farm, 1 Bryher, 1 St. Martin’s and 5 on St. Agnes.
Red-backed Shrike – 1 on the Garrison. (more…)
