Wednesday A Sooty Shearwater flew past Peninnis Head, a Common Sandpiper was in Lower Moors and a Crossbill was at Longstone Thursday 3 Swift were over Old town and the Crossbill was still at Longstone. The evening pelagic trip 5 miles south of St. Mary’s produced 1 Cory’s Shearwater, 16 Great Shearwater, 6 Wilsons Storm-petrel, about 300 European Storm-petrel, 2 Bluefin Tuna and a Blue Shark. Saturday A Green Sandpiper flew over Lunnon, a Mediterranean Gull was at Pelistry, a Wheatear was at Deep Point and 2 Crossbill were in Carreg Dhu pines. Tuesday 21st – Sunday 26th July 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Tuesday A Cetti’s Warbler caught at Porth Hellick Ringing Station was a male in complete juvenile plumage. This may be an indication of local breeding. A juvenile Cuckoo was on Porth Hellick Down. Tuesday A Green Sandpiper and a Cetti’s Warbler were at Shooters’ Pool Wednesday 12 Sandwich Tern, 3 Mediterranean Gull ,7 Black-headed Gull and a Common Sandpiper were at Porthcressa. 5 Crossbill were at Longstone and flew off towards Sandy Lane. Friday 25 Swift were over Longstone. Wednesday The only report was of a Hobby over Normandy. Thursday The Cetti’s Warbler was still near the Dump Clump and a brief visit to Tresco produced a Tufted Duck, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Golden Plover and 3 Mediterranean Gull.
