A Sooty Shearwater flew past Giant’s Castle and 15 Mediterranean Gull, a Yellow-legged Gull & 34 Sandwich Tern were at Porthcressa. A Pied Flycatcher was in the bushes at Newford duck Pond. Friday A Great Northern Diver was off St. Agnes and a Lapwing, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpiper, 10 Greenshank & a Cetti’s Warbler were at Porth Hellick. A Whimbrel flew over the Garrison, 3 Pied Flycatcher were in the Garrison Pines, a Wheatear was near the Star Castle and 2 Crossbill were at Longstone. Wednesday A Sooty Shearwater flew past Peninnis Head, a Common Sandpiper was in Lower Moors and a Crossbill was at Longstone Thursday 3 Swift were over Old town and the Crossbill was still at Longstone. Tuesday A Cetti’s Warbler caught at Porth Hellick Ringing Station was a male in complete juvenile plumage. This may be an indication of local breeding. A juvenile Cuckoo was on Porth Hellick Down.
