Tuesday The Spotted Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank & a Yellow Wagtail were at Porth Hellick, a Swift was over Higher Moors, a Whinchat was on the airfield and a possible Ortolan Bunting was briefly in a garden on High Lanes, where there was also a Grey Wagtail with in Lower Moors. Thursday 3rd – Saturday 5th September 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Thursday The Spotted Sandpiper was still at Porth Hellick on rocks at the mouth of the bay and the Curlew Sandpiper was still on Porthloo Beach. A Melodious Warbler was photographed near Cadet Hut on the Garrison, a Whinchat was on the airport and a  Black Kite was over St. Mary’s. Tuesday The Spotted Sandpiper was still at Porth Hellick, where there were also, 9 Greenshank, a flyover Spotted Redshank, a Wigeon, a Kingfisher, a Cetti’s Warbler and a Whinchat. Sunday 23rd – Thursday 27th August 2020 – IoS Bird Sightings

Sunday A juvenile Ruff and 5 Wheatear were on the airfield. At Porth Hellick 9 Greenshank, 2 Dunlin & 9 Ringed Plover were on the beach, a Common Sandpiper was on the Pool and a Cetti’s Warbler was in the bushes. A Crossbill was at Longstone. Thursday 42 Great Shearwater, 26 Cory’s Shearwater, a Sooty Shearwater & a Balearic Shearwater flew past Peninnis and 15 Great Shearwater, a Cory’s Shearwater & 2 Sooty Shearwater flew past Deep Point. Tuesday A Balearic Shearwater flew past Peninnis Head and a Cory’s Shearwater was seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip to Penzance. A Green Sandpiper was between Pendrathen & Bar Point and a Whinchat & a Wheatear were near Peninnis Lighthouse.
