Stone Curlew – The bird that was last reported on December 21st was seen in a large flower field opposite Porthloo Lane at Telegraph, later moving to the field at the junction of Pungies Lane and MacFarland Down.
Arctic Skua – The light-morph adult Arctic Skua lingering from last year was by the southern runway on the airfield,
Cattle Egret – 4 at Longstone.
Little Egret – 1 at Longstone.
Manx Shearwater – 1 off Giant’s Castle.
Woodcock – 1 on Castella Down, St. Agnes.
Merlin – 1 over Pungies Lane.
Black Redstart – 1 around the Mermaid and Hugh Town Quay.
Wednesday (11/01)
Stone Curlew – Still in the same fields at Telegraph.
Cattle Egret – 4 still at Longstone.
Little Egret – 1 still at Longstone.
Red-throated Diver – 1 landed on the sea off Morning Point.
Great Northern Diver – 1 on the sea off Morning Point.
Arctic Skua – 1 on the sea off Morning Point.
Thursday (12/01)
Cattle Egret – 4 still at Longstone.
Long-eared Owl – 1 on Pump Lane in the evening.
Grey Phalarope – 1 off St. Agnes Quay.
Woodcock – 9 on Pump Lane in the evening.
Friday (13/01)
Stone Curlew – Was still in the same fields at Telegraph until flushed by flower pickers,
Cattle Egret – 4 still at Longstone.
Spoonbill – On Samson
Eider – A female in Pentle Bay, Tresco.
Great Spotted Woodpecker – A female in Holy Vale
Firecrest – 1 in Carreg Dhu Gardens and 1 at Higher Moors.
Saturday (14/01)
Cattle Egret – 4 still at Longstone.
Firecrest – 1, possibly 2 in Carreg Dhu Gardens
Sunday (15/01)
Cattle Egret – 4 still at Longstone.
Glaucous Gull – 1 at Porthloo (photo).
Mediterranean Gull – 5 at Shark’s Pit.
Caspian Gull – A “possible” first-winter bird flew over Shark’s Pit.
