Cory’s Shearwater – 3 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.
Great Shearwater – 2 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.
Sooty Shearwater – 2 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.
Common Sandpiper – 10 on Abbey Pool, Tresco and 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.
Wood Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco and 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.
Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Great Skua – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.
Cuckoo – 1 in bushes by Porth Hellick Pool and 1 another juvenile by the Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Blue Shark – 2 caught, tagged and released on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.
Porbeagle Shark – 2 caught, tagged and released on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles
southwest of Bishop Rock.
Friday (29/07)
Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of St. Mary’s.
Arctic Skua – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of St. Mary’s.
Great Skua – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of St. Mary’s.
Swift – 40+ over Old Town Bay & probably the same flock over Longstone/Holy Vale area and 1 over the Chaplaincy on Church Street.
Saturday (30/07)
The first daytime pelagic trip of the year went 8 miles south of St. Mary’s and was very successful, yielding:
3 Wilson’s Storm-petrel (photo), 50 European Storm-petrel, 30 Cory’s Shearwater(photo), 27 Great Shearwater (photo), 7 Sooty Shearwater (photo), 1 Balearic Shearwater and 1000 Manx Shearwater, a Great Skua(photo), and a Long-tailed Skua. Also seen were 2 Fin Whale and 20+ Short-beaked Common Dolphin. Also a European Storm-petrel, 2 Cory’s Shearwater, a Great Shearwater, a Short-beaked Common Dolphin and 6 Risso’s Dolphin were seen from the Scillonian III, all on the “Scillonian side”.
Common Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.
Sunday (31/07)
Another daytime pelagic trip, this time 9 miles southwest of St. Mary’s again was very successful, bird seen were 2 Wilson’s Storm-petrel, 40 European Storm-petrel, 20 Cory’s Shearwater, 9 Great Shearwater, 8 Sooty Shearwater, Great Skua and a Long-tailed Skua. 3 Blue Shark were seen, 2 of which were caught tagged and released.

Spotted Redshank – 1 the Great Pool, Tresco, seen from the Swarovski Hide.
Wood Sandpiper – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Common Sandpiper – 8 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Yellow-legged Gull – 5 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Mediterranean Gull – 30 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Monday (01/08)
An evening pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock produced 1 Wilson’s Storm-petrel, an amazing 350 European Storm-petrel. a Cory’s Shearwater 6 Arctic Tern and a, Great Skua. 2 Blue Shark and 2 Porbeagle Shark were seen one of the Porbeagle was caught tagged and released and estimated to weigh 250lb.

Green Sandpiper – 3 on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Wood Sandpiper – 2 on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Knot – A summer-plumage bird was on South Beach, Tresco.
Hobby – 1 flew over the Garrison Football.
Grasshopper Warbler – 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick ringing station this morning.
Sege Warbler – 27! trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick ringing station this morning.
