Rose-coloured Starling – The bird near the police station had moved further along the road towards Parson’s field and was later back in the New Zealand flame tree. Another was near the Seven Stones Inn on St. Martin’s.
Mistle Thrush – 1 in a field at Maypole Triangle.
Long-tailed Skua – A first-summer bird was seen on the evening pelagic trip 6 moles south of St. Mary’s.
Balearic Shearwater – 1 was seen on the evening pelagic trip.
Sooty Shearwater – 1 was seen on the evening pelagic trip.
European Storm-petrel – 5 were seen on the evening pelagic trip.
Blue Shark – 5 were caught tagged and released on the evening pelagic trip.
Common Dolphin – A pod were seen on the evening pelagic trip (photo).
Wally the walrus was still on a pontoon in Hugh Town Harbour.
Tuesday (13/07)
Rose-coloured Starling – 1 now on the roof of the Wesleyan Chapel, another again in a garden on Ennor Close and 2, possibly 3 by the Seven Stones Inn on St. Martin’s, 1 of these or another at Pool Green in the evening.
Iceland Gull – 1 still in field along Telegraph Road before the Porthloo turn.
Shoveler – 3 Tresco.
Tufted Duck – A pair on Tresco.
Knot – 1 Tresco.
Common Sandpiper – 1 on the south end of Gugh.
Wednesday (14/07)
Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still in a garden on Ennor Close, 1 in a New Zealand Flame Tree by the Garrison arch and 2 still by the Seven Stones Inn on St. Martin’s.
Iceland Gull – 1 on St. Martin’s Flats.
Wally the walrus was back in Hugh Town Harbour.
Thursday (15/07)
Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still in the New Zealand Flame Tree by the Garrison arch.
Whimbrel – 5 Tresco.
Mediterranean Gull – 6 Teän, 1 near Samson and 1in Tresco channel.
Great Skua – 1 was seen on the evening pelagic trip 6 moles south of St. Mary’s.
Sooty Shearwater – 2 were seen on the evening pelagic trip.
Swift – 1 over the Garrison.
Wally the walrus was still on his personal pontoon in Hugh Town Harbour.
Minke Whale– 2 were seen on the evening pelagic trip.
Short-beaked Dolphin – 200+ were seen on the evening pelagic trip.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 in the New Zealand Flame Tree by the Seven Stones Inn, St. Martin’s.

Hobby – 1 over Lower Town, St. Martin’s.
Shoveler – 8 Tresco
Pochard – 10 Tresco
Cuckoo – 1 Porth Killier, St. Agnes.
Black-tailed Godwit – 1 Tresco

Iceland Gull – 1 still in field along Telegraph Road before the Porthloo turn.
Mediterranean Gull – 1 St. Martin’s Flats.
Swift – 2 or 3 over the west part of St. Mary’s.
Wally the walrus was near Craggy Ellis Ledge, off Tresco and later by the cruise ship “Hebridean Sky” in the Roads.
Saturday (17/07)
Iceland Gull – 1 still in field along Telegraph Road before the Porthloo turn.
Mediterranean Gull – At least 3 amongst gulls feeding on flying ants over Buzza.
Swift – 1 at Watermill.
Siskin – 1 on a garden feeder on High Lanes.
Wally the walrus was back on his personal pontoon in Hugh Town Harbour.
Sunday (18/07)
Rose-coloured Starling – 1 in the area of the Seven Stones Inn, St. Martin’s.
Whimbrel – 3 off Tresco.
Dunlin – 4 near Samson.
Sanderling – 1 Tresco.
Mediterranean Gull – 9 near Samson, 1 near St. Helen’s, 1 Tresco and 1 two miles northwest of Annet.
Mediterranean Gull – 1 two miles northwest of Annet.
Swift – 2 over the Seven Stones Inn, St. Martin’s, 5 over New Grimsby, Tresco and 1 over the Garrison.
Siskin – A male in pines just north of New Grimsby quay, Tresco.
Wally the walrus was still in Hugh Town Harbour.
