Dotterel – 1 flew northeast over the Garrison
Shoveler – A pair on the Abbey Pool, Tresco
Pintail – A drake on the Great Pool, Tresco
Pochard – 3 drakes on the Great Pool, Tresco
Black-throated Diver – A summer-plumaged bird at Little Bay, St. Martin’s
Great Northern Diver –7 in the Roads, 1 off Annet
Marsh Harrier – A female over Tresco also seen over Pendrathen
Whimbrel – 2 on Periglis Beach, St. Agnes, 1 Porth Cressa, 3 at Little Bay and 2 Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s, 1 flew north past Pentle Bay. Tresco
Bar-tailed Godwit – A summer-plumaged bird on Periglis Beach, St. Agnes, 5 flew over Porth Cressa, 2 past Carn Wethers, St. Martin’s, 4 Pentle Bay. Tresco
Common Sandpiper – 1 Porth Hellick Pool, 4 on the Great Pool, Tresco
Iceland Gull – 2 Porthloo
Great Spotted Woodpecker –
Grasshopper Warbler – 1 reeling at Rowesfield crossroads, Tresco and one reeling at Carn Friars
Redwing – 1 at Longstone
Pied Flycatcher – A male at the Abbey crossroads
Yellow Wagtail – 3 with the cattle at Salakee
Monday (19/04)
Bee-eater – 1 still around the Carn Friars/Normandy area before flying off over Holy Vale
Whinchat – The first of the year was 1 in a field on Pungies Lane
Great Northern Diver – 1 coming into summer plumage of the south end of Samson, 2 off St. Agnes looking towards Annet
Marsh Harrier – A female at/over various locations on St. Mary’s and Tresco
Whimbrel – 5 on rocks at Innisidgen
Purple Sandpiper – 2 on Gugh were flushed by a Peregrine, 5 on the west side of Mincarlo, Western Isles
Common Sandpiper – 1 at St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes
Iceland Gull – 2 Porthloo and at least 1 of these seen at other locations on St. Mary’s
Merlin – A female flew over St. Agnes cricket pitch
Sedge Warbler – 1 Newford Duck Pond, 2 Porth Hellick
Grasshopper Warbler – 1 singing at Longstone
Ring Ouzel – A male and female on Gugh, 1 on the cricket pitch on St. Agnes, 1 at Borough Farm, Tresco
Black Redstart – 1 in north east of Higher town, St. Martin’s
Yellow Wagtail – 1 at St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes
White Wagtail – 5 St. Agnes
Tree Pipit – 1 in Trenoweth Vineyard
