Wednesday
The Lesser Kestrel was still on the Airfield, the Red-throated Pipit was still in the Garrison Horse Paddock and the Pied Flycatcher was sheltering in the pines by the Woolpack Fort.
A Hooded Crow, 12 Whimbrel were on the Golf Course and 4 were at Porthloo, where there was also a Common Sandpiper.
A male Merlin was at Shark’s Pit (Porth Thomas) and at the next bay along a female was at Porthloo, what was probably one of these 2 was also reported from the Golf Course.
A Tree Pipit & a Yellow Wagtail were at Porth Hellick and a Garden Warbler was at Peacehaven, Watermill.
Thursday
The Lesser Kestrel was seen on the Airfield & on Porth Hellick Down and a male Serin perched up briefly at Longstone before flying towards Holy Vale.
A Corncrake was calling on Barnaby Lane, St. Agnes, and the Hooded Crow was seen in Hugh Town, on the Mermaid slipway and flying over Church Street.
2 Whimbrel were on the Golf Course, a Tree Pipit was at Trenoweth, a White Wagtail was at Longstone and the Cetti’s Warbler was still near the Dump Clump.
Friday
The Lesser Kestrel was commuting between Deep Point & Giant’s Castle, a Whimbrel was at Salakee, a Merlin was at Longstone, where a Rook (a scarce bird on Scilly) also flew over.
The Cetti’s Warbler was still by the Dump Clump and a Grasshopper Warbler was reeling just east of there at dusk.
Saturday
A quiet day with not a lot of reports but impressive counts of shearwaters and dolphins.
7+ Great Northern Diver were in the Roads and a Whimbrel flew over Hugh Town.
A count between Deep Point & Giant’s Castle produced a Sooty Shearwater, 2500 Manx Shearwater and 450 Common Dolphin.
