Monday
The Lesser Kestrel was at Porth Hellick Down, a Merlin was on the Garrison and an Osprey was on St. Martin’s. The Hoopoe was still at Carn Friars, the Snow Bunting was again on Holgate’s Green and the Short-eared Owl was ranging from Old Town to Trewince. A Great Northern Diver was in the Roads, at least 40 Sandwich Terns were around the islands and 2 Golden Plover were on Peninnis with another 2 off Morning Point. A Water Rail was in Lower Moors and 2 Raven were over St. Mary’s.
About 20 Swallows, 20+ Sand Martin & 3 House Martin were on St. Mary’s, a Redwing was on the Garrison, 2 Black Redstart were on St. Martin’s and a Willow Warbler was in Lower Moors.
Tuesday
The Lesser Kestrel & the Short-eared Owl were at Porth Hellick Down, the Hoopoe was still at Carn Friars and the Snow Bunting was again on Holgate’s Green & in the backyard of Lyonnesse House. 7 Golden Plover were on the Airfield and there were 2Cetti’s Warbler on St. Mary’s, 1 still singing near the “Dump Clump” and one ringed in September 2019 was re-trapped at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.
Wednesday
The Lesser Kestrel was still at Porth Hellick Down, the Hoopoe was still at Carn Friars and the Snow Bunting was again on Holgate’s Green & in the backyard of Lyonnesse House.
21 Great Northern Diver were in the Roads, 100+ Manx Shearwater were off Peninnis and a Common Scoter was off Samson/
Single Common Snipe were at Porthloo Duck Pond & on the Garrison and 7 Whimbrel & 3 Common Gull were at Bar Point. There was a large fall of 100+ Willow Warbler on St. Mary’s, 14 were trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick. The Cetti’s Warbler was still near the Dump where there was also the first Sedge Warbler of the tear and Grasshopper Warbler were reeling on the Garrison & at Watermill. 13 Redwing were at Pelistry Riding Stables, 2 were in Old Town and 1 was on the Garrison. The first 2 Common Redstart both males) of the spring were 1 at Pelistry Riding Stables & 1 was at Green Farm, a Black Redstart was at Porthloo & 1 was at Tregear’s Porth.
A White Wagtail was at Porthloo and another new bird for the year was a Yellow Wagtail at Old Town. A Brambling was in the Airport Fields at Ennor Close, Old Town and 2 Tree Pipit were at Trenoweth & 1 flew over Porthloo.
