There were reports of Red-eyed Vireo from 3 different locations on St.Mary’s : Old Town Church, MacFarland’s Down and Sunnyside Farm Trail and as no birders seem to have visited Tresco today, there may well have been 4 vireos on the islands. The Rose-breasted Grosbeak was still on St. Martin’s but continued to be very mobile and elusive. The Blue Rock Thrush was still elusive on the Garrison but the Yellow-billed Cuckoo finally gave excellent views in the Dump Clump. The White-rumped Sandpiper was still on Toll’s Porth. The Little Bunting was still at Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s and the Blue-winged Teal was still on Porth Hellick Pool. The Short-toed Lark was still on Pungies Lane and a Common Rosefinch was new in on St. Agnes.
The 2 Pink-footed Geese were still at Kittydown, the Spoonbill was still on Green Island, Samson, the Spotted Crake was still in Lower Moors, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit & 5 Mediterranean Gull were at Bar Point, a Great Skua past Peninnis with another seen from the Scillonian III from where a Pomarine Skua was also seen, & 2 Arctic Skua were off the Eastern Isles. A Turtle Dove was at Sunnyside, a Wryneck was on Peninnis & 1 was at Buzza Quarry , a Merlin was over Trenoweth, 7 Yellow-browed Warbler were on St.Mary’s & 1 was on St. Martin’s, a Garden Warbler was at Shooter’s Pool, lower Moors, the Cetti’s Warbler was still at Porth Hellick & 6 Firecrest were on St. Mary’s. A Pied Flycatcher was in Holy Vale & single Red-breasted Flycatcher were in Holy Vale & the Dump Clump. A Black Redstart was at Carn Thomas, and single Common Redstart were at Bant’s Carn, Porth Hellick and on Peninnis. There was still a scattering of Whinchat &Wheatear and a Yellow Wagtail was at Mount Todden. 4 Siskin were at Carreg Dhu Gardens and 3 Snow Bunting were on St.Martin’s with another 3 on Bryher.
