Hawfinch (M.Goodey)
16th April – A female Hawfinch was in a private garden in Holy Vale before flying south.
17th April – A 1st winter LAUGHING GULL was reported on seaweed in front of Karma Hotel on St Martin’s. The Woodchat Shrike was on St Agnes and a Tree Pipit was also on the island. A possible Woodchat Shrike was reported from a field near to the Star Castle Hotel. An Iceland Gull was at Lower Moors and another was on the golf course with a 1st Sum Med Gull. The Hawfinch returned to the Holy Vale garden during the afternoon. A Grasshopper Warbler was at Watermill and a Mad Gull and 2 Whimbrel were at Porthloo.
