Thursday (08/03) – A Glaucous Gull and 2 Iceland Gulls at Porthloo.
Friday (09/03) – A Glaucous Gull, 2 Iceland Gulls and a Whimbrel at Porthloo.
Saturday (10/03) – A Glaucous Gull and 2 Iceland Gulls at Porth Hellick.
Sunday (11/03) – Iceland Gulls were at Porthloo, a Merlin flew over St. Mary’s Airfield, a Whimbrel was in Porth Hellick Bay and a Brambling was in Hugh Town garden. The Snowy Owl was on Bryher, where there was also a Siberian Chiffchaff and an early House Martin.
Thursday (15/03) – 3 Iceland Gulls were at Porthcressa.
Friday (16/03) – 2 Iceland Gulls were at Porthcressa and another was at Porthloo, where there were also 2 Black Redstarts. Also reported on St. Mary’s were 3 White Wagtails and a Short-eared Owl.
Saturday (17/03) – The Snowy Owl was on Tresco and a Brambling was in garden on high Lanes.
Sunday (18/03) – The Snowy Owl was on Tresco, where it was must have felt at home in the snow, in recent times snow is rarer than Snowy Owls on Scilly.
On St. Mary’s a Red Kite, a rare bird on Scilly, flew over the island, after first been seen on St. Agnes. A Glaucous Gull was at Pelistry and an Iceland Gull & 4 White Wagtails were at Porthloo.
Monday (19/03) – 2 Iceland Gulls flew past Bar Point.
Tuesday (20/03) – The Snowy Owl was still on Tresco and on the Garrison 2 Iceland Gulls were off Morning Point & a Firecrest was singing in the Star Castle pines.
