Vagrant Emperor Dragonfly, St. Mary’s, (M. Goodey)

A Vagrant Emperor Dragonfly was seen in Sunnyside Farm fields opposite the entrance to Trewince in the morning and another was on Tresco in the afternoon.
Cedar Waxwing – 1 still on St. Agnes.
Cliff Swallow – 1 still on St. Mary’s, around the airfield and Lower Moors, seen flying towards Porth Hellick early evening.
Isabelline Wheatear – 1 still on St. Mary’s Airfield.
Bee-eater – 3 on Tresco, then flew to St. Martin’s.
American Golden Plover – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach.
Purple Heron – 1 flew along the coast past Juliet’s Garden Café and headed for Tresco.
Spotted Crake – 1 still in Lower Moors.
Spoonbill – 2 on Green Island near Samson.
Hawfinch – 1flew over Borough Farm, St. Mary’s.
Lapland Bunting – 1 still on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.
Yellow-browed Warbler – An obvious influx with 9 birds on St. Mary’s, 2 on Tresco, 3 on St. Martin’s, 2 on St. Agnes and 6 on Bryher..
Firecrest – 4 on St. Mary’s, 4 on St. Martin’s, 2 on Bryher, 2 on Tresco and 1 on St. Agnes.
Cory’s Shearwater – 1 seen from the Garrison.
Sooty Shearwater – 1 seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Balearic Shearwater – 1 seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Pale-bellied Brent Goose – 2 at Porth Thomas.
Shelduck – 2 on Bryher where the first of the autumn.
Pintail – A drake on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Common Scoter – One off the Garrison was the first of the autumn.
Great Northern Diver – 1 near Hats Buoy between Watermill and Innisidgen.
Common Buzzard – 1 on Tresco.
Golden Plover – 8 Airfield, 1 Golf Course and 1 St. Martin’s.
Whimbrel – 2 on St. Mary’s, 1 on Bryher and 1 1 on Green Island near Samson.
Bar-tailed Godwit – 2 on Bryher.
Grey Phalarope – 1 seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Jack Snipe – 1 Porth Hellick Pool and 1 St. Agnes.
Artic Skua – 2 past the Garrison.
Great Skua – 2 past the Garrison and 1 seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Mediterranean Gull – 4 Bryher and 1 seen between St. Mary’s & S. Martin’s.
Turtle Dove – 1 on St. Agnes.
Merlin – 3 on St. Mary’s, 1 on St. Agnes and 1 on St. Martin’s.
Hooded Crow – 1 on Bryher.
Garden Warbler – 1 on the Garrison.
Lesser Whitethroat – 1 caught and ringed at Porth Hellick and 1 on St. Agnes.
Common Whitethroat – 1 Bryher.
Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in Holy Vale, 1 Sandy Lane, 1 Bryher, 1 St. Agnes and 1 on St. Martin’s.
Pied Flycatcher – 6 on St. Agnes and 1 Old Town Churchyard.
Whinchat – 1 on the Airfield, 1 on St. Martin’s and 1 on Bryher.
White Wagtail – 6 on Bryher.
Tree Pipit – 1 Bryher.
Siskin – 6 Watermill, 1 Sunnyside and 2 on St. Martin’s.
Reed Bunting- 1 Tresco.
