Tuesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Serin flew over the school towards Nowhere, Old Town.
At sea – 30 European Storm-petrels were seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Wednesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Green Sandpiper & a Greenshank were on Porth Hellick Pool, nearby a White Wagtail was on Porth Hellick Beach and a Common Swift was over Porth Hellick House.
Friday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Green Sandpiper was on Lower Moors Pool.
Sunday’s birds were:
St. Agnes – A Red-rumped Swallow was over Island Fields & Browarth and a White Wagtail was seen carrying food at Troy Town.
St. Mary’s – The Red-rumped Swallow had moved to Porth Hellick in the evening, where there was also a Hobby. 3 Mediterranean Gulls were on the beach at Porthloo,
Tresco– A Little Egret and a Common Swift.
Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The 3 Mediterranean Gulls were still on Porthloo Beach.
At sea – The evening short-range pelagic trip produced the first Cory’s Shearwaters of the year an amazing 37 birds. Also seen were 4 Great Shearwaters, 50 European Storm-petrels, a Mediterranean Gull and 2 Great Skuas. 2 Blue Sharks were caught, tagged and released.
