Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The only report was of a Greenshank at Porth Hellick.
Tresco – 7 Pochards, 3 Greenshanks, 1 Redshank, 3 Whimbrels, 2 Common Buzzards and 3 Common Swifts.
Annet – 100+ Manx Shearwaters offshore.
At sea – A pelagic trip with a TV crew to film sharks proved successful for all: a Wilson’s Storm-petrel, 40+ European Storm-petrels, a Sooty Shearwater, 2 Blue Sharks and 3 Ocean Sunfish.
Tuesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 4 Greenshanks wereat Porth Hellick.
St. Agnes – 5 Curlews.
Inter-island waters – A second-summer Mediterranean Gull was in St. Mary’s Sound between St. Mary’s and St. Agnes.
Wednesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Greenshank countwas up to 5at Porth Hellick.
At sea – A Sabine’s Gull was seen from the Scillonian III on the crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Thursday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The 5 Greenshanks were stillat Porth Hellick and the second-summer Mediterranean Gull was at Porthcressa.
Annet – 400+ Manx Shearwaters offshore.
At sea – The evening pelagic trip produced the first Cory’s Shearwater of the year, along with 35 European Storm-petrels, a Great Skua, 6 Blue Sharks, 2 Ocean Sunfish and a few Common Dolphins.
Friday’s birds were:
Tresco – A Redshank and a Greenshank.
St. Martin’s – 30 Curlews and 3 Peregrines.
Saturday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 2 Mediterranean Gulls at Porthcressa.
Sunday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 2 Mediterranean Gulls were stillat Porthcressa and a Hooded Crow in Hugh Town.
Tresco – The Iberian Chiffchaff was still singing on Abbey Drive. Also on the island were a Knot, a Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Greenshanks, 4 Whimbrels and 4 Pochards.
Teän – 30+ Curlews.
Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 2 Mediterranean Gulls were stillat Porthcressa.
Tresco – The Iberian Chiffchaff was still singing on Abbey Drive.
St. Martin’s – A Hooded Crow.
Annet – 200+ Manx Shearwaters offshore.
At sea – The evening pelagic proved to be excellent; the first Great Shearwater of the year was seen along with 35+ Cory’s Shearwaters, 40+ European Storm-petrels and 2 Blue Sharks which were caught, tagged and released.
