Saturdays Birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Spotted Sandpiper, the Red-rumped Swallow was at Porth Hellick late in the day and the Iceland Gull was on the Municipal Dump. A female Marsh Harrier was over Lower Moors and a Turtle Dove was also in the same area. A Spotted Flycatcher was at Content.
Tresco – The Iberian Chiffchaff was singing at Abbey Crossroads and a Black-headed Gull was also on Tresco.
Sundays Birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Spotted Sandpiper, the Red-rumped Swallow was at Porth Hellick late in the day and the Iceland Gull was on the Golf Course.
Tresco – The Iberian Chiffchaff was singing at Abbey Crossroads a Hobby was over the Great Pool.
St Agnes – A Golden Plover and a Spotted Flycatcher were seen today.
Mondays Birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Spotted Sandpiper was at Porth Hellick and the Iceland Gull was at Parting Carn in the morning and on the Golf Course in the evening. . A Spotted Flycatcher was at Content.
Tresco – The Iberian Chiffchaff was singing at Abbey Crossroads and a Blue-headed Wagtail was on Simpson’s Field and the male Marsh Harrier was seen over the south end of the island. A Spotted Flycatcher was at Borough Farm.
Six Great Northern Divers and at least 200 Manx Shearwaters were near Annet in the evening.
Tuesdays Birds were:
St. Mary’s – The male Ruff that had been seen in flight over St Agnes ended up at Porth Hellick
St Agnes – A singing Melodious Warbler was near Lower Town Farm and an Ortolan Bunting was on Periglis in the evening. A Turtle Dove and a Swift were also noted. The Ruff seen flying over in the early morning was probably that seen at Porth Hellick later in the day.
Wednesdays Birds were:
St Mary’s – The male Ruff was still at Porth Hellick.
Bryher – A male Red-backed Shrike was in hedges behind Great Porth and four Spotted Flycatchers were seen today
St Martin’s – A Turtle Dove and a Marsh Harrier were on the island today
Thursdays Birds were:
St. Mary’s – A probable Black Kite was seen at Porth Hellick this morning and the male Ruff was present all day
Tresco – One Cuckoo was noted on the island
Bryher – The Hooded Crow is still present and two Cuckoos were seen
Two Great Northern Divers were near Annet in the evening as were 200+ Manx Shearwaters. A Marsh Harrier was seen over Annet during the day.
