Sunday 2nd to Tuesday 4th August 2015 IoS Bird Sightings

Sunday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – 3 Crossbills flew north over the Garrison.

At sea – A morning short-range pelagic trip recorded 1 Balearic Shearwater, 2 Sooty Shearwaters, a Pomarine Skua and 2 Sabine’s Gulls.

Monday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – A Pectoral Sandpiper, a Dunlin and 5 Greenshanks were on Porth Hellick Pool.

At sea – A evening short-range pelagic trip produced 200+ European Storm-petrels, 2 Great Skuas and a Blue Shark.

Tuesday’s birds were:

St. Agnes – The Pectoral Sandpiper was on Porth Coose Beach at 06:30.

St. Mary’s – The Pectoral Sandpiper was back on Porth Hellick Pool, where it remained until dark.
