Wednesday’s Birds were:

St. Mary’s – A Firecrest was between Porth Hellick House and Parting Carn. The Serin and the juvenile Rose-coloured Starling were still in the allotments opposite the incinerator. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Porth Mellon and a 3rd-winter Glaucous Gull flew past Innisidgen.

Thursday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – The Serin and the juvenile Rose-coloured Starling were still in the allotments opposite the incinerator. A Long-eared Owl was at Longstone, a Firecrest was in Carreg Dhu Gardens and the 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese were on Porth Hellick Pool. A Little Auk and a Slavonian Grebe were off Innisidgen.

St. Agnes – A Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Friday – No reports.

Saturday’s birds were:

St. Martin’s – A Balearic Shearwater and a Great Skua.

Sunday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s  – A SORA RAIL was found in Lower Moors, whether this was the bird seen briefly last October or was new-in, is open to conjecture. The area where the bird was seen is a large flooded wood with many inaccessible areas for birds to disappear in. Also on the island a juvenile Glaucous Gull was seen between Peninnis Head & Porthcressa and the Serin & the juvenile Rose-coloured Starling were still in the allotments opposite the incinerator.

St. Agnes – A juvenile Glaucous Gull was on the Big Pool.
