Highlights from Tuesday’s log include:
American Buff-bellied Pipit – One was seen on Peninnis and another was on Bryher (possibly three birds involved in all sightings!)
American Golden Plover – 1 was the airfield then flew to St. Agnes and then later returned to the airfield.
Rose-coloured Starling – 1 still at Porth Hellick.
Richard’s Pipit – 1 was on Peninnis.
Dotterel – 1 was on Peninnis.
Yellow-browed Warbler – 11 on St. Mary’s, 1 on Tresco, 1 on St.Agnes and 2 on St. Martin’s.
Spoonbill – 1 on Green Island, Samson.
Common Scoter – 2 off St. Agnes
Sooty Shearwater – 4 on a pelagic trip.
Little Egret -11 in Tresco Channel and 1 on St. Agnes.
Merlin – 1 on Bryher and 1 on the airfield.
Whimbrel – 1 on St. Agnes, 1 on Bryher, 1 on St.Agnes and one in Old Town Bay.
Grey Plover – 2 on Bryher.
Curlew Sandpiper – 1 was on the Airfield.
Grey Phalarope – 1 on the pelagic trip.
Great Spotted Woodpecker – The bird roaming St. Mary’s was finally seen well enough to be identified as a female.
Pomarine Skua – 1 on the pelagic trip.
Arctic Skua – 1 on the pelagic trip.
Great Skua – 8 on the pelagic trip.
Sabine’s Gull – A first-winter bird was seen on the pelagic trip.
Arctic Tern – 1 on the pelagic trip.
Puffin – 2 on the pelagic trip.
Wryneck – 1 on the Garrison. 1 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.
Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 still on St. Mary’s.
Common Redstart – 3 on the Garrison, 2 on Peninnis, 1 Helvear, 1 Holy Vale, 1 on Bryher and 1 on St. Martin’s.
Whinchat – 2 at Mount Todden, 1 Peninnis, 1 lower Moors, 3 on St. Martin’s and 1 on St. Agnes.
Grasshopper Warbler – 1 on the Garrison.
Lesser Whitethroat – 1 at Porth Hellick.
Common Whitethroat – 1 Little Porth and 1 Telegraph Road..
Firecrest – 1 on the Garrison.
Spotted flycatcher – 1 at Old Town Churchyard.
Red-breasted Flycatcher 1 at Content.
Pied flycatcher – 2 on St. Agnes, 1 at Trenoweth, 1 on the Garrison and 2 on Bryher.
Brambling – 1 on the Garrison.
Siskin – 7 in Holy Vale, 3 at Higher Moors and 8 at Mount Todden.
Common Crossbill – 1 on Peninnis and 1 Longstone.
Lapland Bunting – 1 on Bryher and 1 on St. Agnes.
Snow Bunting – 2 on Bryher and 1 on St. Agnes.
