Dotterel, St Mary's Airfield, (Martin Goodey)

Highlights from this evenings Bird Log include:

Western Bonelli’s Warbler – 1 was at Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Buff-breasted Sandpiper – 1 near Beady Pool, St. Agnes and probably the same one later on the airfield, St. Mary’s.

Rose-coloured Starling – Single juveniles were in the Porth Hellick/Salakee area and at Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Ortolan Bunting – 1 at Little Porth.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in Popplestone Fields, Bryher.

Lapland Bunting – 2 on Chapel Down, St. Martin’s.

Snow Bunting – 1 on St. Agnes.

Barred Warbler – 1 below the turning circle on St. Mary’s airfield.

Yellow-browed Warbler – On St. Mary’s single birds were at Green Farm, Higher Moors & Lower Moors. 1 was in the Parsonage on St. Agnes and 1 was along Pool Road, Tresco.

Dotterel – 1 on the airfield, St. Mary’s.

Spoonbill – 1 on Green Island near Samson.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 flew from Pelistry towards Mount Todden.

Pink-footed Geese – 8 on Tresco.

Common Scoter – A female off Morning Point, The Garrison.

Little Egret – 11 in Tresco channel and 1 on St. Agnes.

Merlin – 2 St.Mary’s.

Whimbrel – 1 Porthloo and 2 on St. Agnes.

Common Redstart – A female on Porth Hellick Beach.

Whinchat – 1 Porth Hellick.

Firecrest – 2 were on the Garrison.

Spotted Flycatcher – 6 on St.Agnes and 1 in Old Town Churchyard.

Pied flycatcher – 1 at Trenoweth.

Siskin – 4 at Green Farm and 6 in Holy Vale.
