St. Mary’s – The Pectoral Sandpiper was still on Porth Hellick Pool. The Bee-eater was seen at Tremelethen Farm, a Garden Warbler was at Trenoweth and the 3 Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still on the airfield. 5 Lapland buntings were on Peninnis, a Kingfisher was at Porthloo, the juvenile Woodchat Shrike & a Spotted Flycatcher were on the Garrison. A Great Shearwater was in St. Mary’s Sound.
Tresco – A juvenile Woodchat Shrike, a Common Redstart, a Whinchat, a Spotted Flycatcher and 3 Curlew Sandpipers.
Bryher – 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers, 2 Wrynecks, a Whinchat, 2 Pied Flycatchers and 4 Spotted Flycatchers.
St. Agnes – Another Pectoral Sandpiper was found on the Big Pool in the morning and right next to it in the afternoon was a Baird’s Sandpiper, also on the island were 3 Lapland Buntings, an Ortolan Bunting and a Wryneck.
At sea – An evening pelagic proved very successful with a remarkable 5 Wilson’s Storm-petrels been seen, the latest date this species has been recorded in Scillonian waters. Also logged were 2 adult Sabine’s Gulls, 3 Sooty Shearwaters, 5 Manx Shearwaters, 20 European Storm-petrels and 3 Great Skuas. 2 Blue Sharks were caught, tagged and released.
