Sunday 17th April 2011 IoS Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – 5 Bee-eaters were hunting and landing on wires at the Telegraph Road/ Higher Lanes junction. 2 male Woodchat Shrikes & 3 Ring Ouzels were on Salakee Down, a female Woodchat Shrike was on the Golf Course and a male was at Deep Point. A Hoopoe & 3 Ring Ouzels were on the Garrison and the Purple Heron was at Porth Hellick Pool. A Nightingale was in Lower Moors, 2 Lesser Redpoll were at Higher Lanes and 2 Ring Ouzels were on the airfield.

Tresco – 2 Bee-eater, a Hawfinch and 5 Ring Ouzels.

Bryher – A Bee-eater.

Samson – A Spoonbill on Green Island.
