Monday 5th January 2009 IoS Bird Reports

Todays birding highlights on the Islands include:

St Mary’s – *GYR* white morph flew east over Hugh Town this afternoon (Thanks A.Hannington). *CATTLE EGRET* (2) flew over airfield at 12.45hrs, one landed at Longstones in field between bungalow and Porth Hellick House and one in field at Kitty Down. Presumably the same two birds were later in a ploughed field at Carn Friars. Black Redstart at Porthloo and Golden Plover (40+) on SE side of airport (Thanks J.Pender)

Bryher – Black-throated Diver offshore this morning (Thanks A.Hannington)
