Monday 07/12 – First-winter drake Scaup still on Porth Hellick Pool, also there male Sparrowhawk, 4+ Siskin at Jac-a-ba feeding station.
Tuesday 08/12 – First-winter drake Scaup still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Wednesday 09/12 – St. Martin’s – female Red-breasted Merganser off Higher Town Quay, 6 Bar-tailed Godwit & 8 Golden Plover in Lawrence’s Bay, 46 Fulmar off the Daymark, and a Lesser Redpoll on the Cricket Pitch. Also 2 Skylark and 12 Great Northern diver offshore.
Thursday 10/12 – Tresco- **BLACK DUCK** on Abbey Pool which the flew to Pentle Bay and then towards Samson, Yellow-browed Warbler in Gardens of Block House cottages and a Long-tailed Duck in Pentle Bay. A vagrant “Intermediate Canada Goose” was on the Heliport, 60+ Ringed Plover were at Bathinghouse Porth and a Whooper Swan was on the Great Pool. Also on the island were 2 drake Pintail and 2 female Shoveler.
St. Mary’s – 30+ Sanderling on Porthloo Beach, male Blackcap in gardens of house opposite the beach, Black Redstart in Shark’s Pit and Grey Wagtail on Porth Mellon Beach.
Friday 11/12 – Tresco – Drake **BLACK DUCK** & juvenile Long-tailed Duck on Abbey Pool, Whooper Swan on the Great Pool and a very unseasonal Willow Warbler along Pool Road. The vagrant “Intermediate Canada Goose” was still on the island, 3 Mediterranean Gulls & a Red-breasted Merganser were in Pentle Bay and 2 Spoonbills were on Merrick Island in Tresco Channel.
Sunday 13/12 – Black Redstart in High Lanes and another on Porthloo Beach. Unfortunately the Scaup was found dead in a stream on higher Moors.
Monday 14/12 – Siberian Chiffchaff & Firecrest at Porth Hellick. Water Pipit on St. Agnes.
