Wigeon – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.
Fieldfare –2 Pump Lane.
Black Redstart – 1 Little Porth.
Monday (09/12)
Merlin – A female flew past Porth Cressa towards Peninnis and an immature male flew through Porthloo
Black Redstart – 1 near the slipway at Porth Cress.
Tuesday (10/12)
Black-throated Diver – An adult was off South Beach, Tresco.
Great Northern Diver – 5 in the Roads and 1 flew north through Tresco Channel.
Pink=footed Goose – The 8 long-staying birds dropped into a field between Longstone bungalow and Sunnyside Farm.
Shoveler – 12 in the Roads.
Great White Egret – 1 in New Grimsby Harbour, Tresco.
Little Egret – 3 at Porthloo.
Woodcock – 1 in the pines behind Longstone Terrace, 1 by the ISBG hide in Lower Moors and 4 on Pump Lane.
Whimbrel – 1 on Toll’s Island.
Sanderling – An impressive count of 210 on Porthloo Beach.
Mediterranean Gull – An adult on Toll’s Island.
Merlin – 1 at Porthloo and 1 Little Porth.
Black Redstart – 1 2 females were in Little Porth and 1 was in the Mermaid Car Park.
Grey Wagtail – 1 on Porthloo Beach.
White Wagtail – 2 at Porthloo.
Wednesday (11/12)
Black-throated Diver – The adult was off South Beach, Tresco.
Great Northen Diver – 1 west of Carn Near and 3 off South Beach, Tresco.
Pink=footed Goose – 8 were on Porth Hellick Pool.
Shoveler – The female was still on Shooters’ Pool.
Red-breasted Merganser – 3 off Plumb Hil, Tresco.
Great White Egret – 1 was still in New Grimsby Harbour, Tresco.
Little Egret – 4 Toll’s Porth. And 1 at Porthloo.
Woodcock – 1 in the Standing Stones Field and 3 at dusk in the fields at Parting Carn.
Merlin – 1 flew past the east runway on the airfield and an adult male was a Telegraph.
Great spotted Woodpecker – 1 was in the Dump Clump.
Firecrest – 1 in the Dump Clump.
Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 near Fraggle rock, Bryher and 1 in the Dump Clump.
Fieldfare – 6 in the Popplestone area on Bryher and by the treatment plant in Lower Moors.
Black Redstart – 1 on Little Porth.
Thursday (12/12)
Jack Snipe – 1 on the sandy track between Popplestone and Bryher Pool.
Little Egret – 6 Porthloo.
Woodcock – 1 on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail.
Merlin – 1 over the Health Centre.
Firecrest – 1 in Holy Vale.
Black Redstart – 1 Porth Cressa, 1 Little Porth and 1 on Town Beach.
White Wagtail – 2 at Little Porth.
Friday (13/12)
Black-necked Grebe – 2 off Carn Near moving to Appletree Bay, Tresco.
Barn Owl – The now seemingly winter resident bird was herd calling at Longstone.
Cattle Egret – 1 flew over the bottom end of the Holy Vale Trail heading towards Normandy.
Spoonbill – 2 on Green Island, Samson.
Little Grebe – 1 on the northwest end of the Great Pool, Tresco.
Black-throated Diver – 1 off Tresco.
Great Northern Diver – 6 off Innisidgen, ! in Porth Cressa Bay, 15 around Tresco and 3 off Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.
Red-breasted Merganser – 3 redheads off Tresco.
Common Scoter – 4 Carn Near, Tresco.
Golden Plover – 2 at Bar Point.
Merlin – 1 flew through the fields between Old Town Church and Peninnis Hed and a male on Tresco.
Short-eared Owl – 1 at Appletree Banks, Tresco.
Firecrest – 2 at the bottom end of the Holy Vale Trail and 2 at Higher Moors.
Mistle Thrush – Flew past Longstone Café towards Salakee.
Redwing – 2 in a field by Mount Todden Farm.
Grey Wagtail – 1 Little Porth.
Saturday (14/12)
Black-throated Diver – 1 viewed for Innisidgen looking towards the eastern Isles.
Great Northern Diver – 8 viewed for Innisidgen looking towards the eastern Isles and 1 flew west past Deep Point.
Pink-footed Goose – 8 in a field northwest of Longstone flew to Porth Hellick Pool and then flew off east.
Common Scoter –A female viewed for Innisidgen looking towards the eastern Isles.
Marsh Harrier – A cream crown was hunting over the eastern Isles.
Great White Egret – 1 flew north along the road at the top of Kittydown.
Firecrest – 1 by Higher Moors Pumping Station.
