Wilson’s Snipe – The bird thought to be this species was still on Lower Moors Pool.

Red-breasted Flycatcher  – 1 was by the hut at Porth Hellick Ringing Station (photo).

Little Bunting – 2 still on the Sunnyside Farm Trail.

Hoopoe  –  1 still on the sandy track behind Popplestone Bay, Bryher.

Great White Egret  – 1 in Porth Hellick Bay and 1 flushed from Porth Cressa by the Osprey.

Whooper Swan – 12 still on Bryher Pool.

Dark-bellied Brant Goose – 2 on Middle Town Beach, St. Martin’s.

Pink-footed Goose  – 8 in fields above Darrity’s Hole.

Shoveler –  1 on Lower Moors Pool.

Jack Snipe – 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station and 3 in the garden of the Star Castle staff accommodation on the Garrison.

Woodcock –1 flushed from the Sunnyside Farm Trail.

Osprey  –1 was fishing in Popplestone Bay, Bryher and then flew over Porth Cressa and later over the Garrison.

Kingfisher – 2 on the pond in the Standing Stones Field.

Great Spotted Woodpecker  – 1 in the Porth Hellick/Higher Moors area.

Skylark – 5 on Bryher

Yellow-browed Warbler  – 3 at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors, 2 in the Dump Clump and 3 in the Porth Hellick/Higher Moors area.

Willow Warbler – A late bird was trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Reed Warbler – Yesterday’s “possible” Blyth’s Reed Warbler was photographed well and reidentified as a Reed Warbler.

Firecrest – 1 in the Porth Hellick/Higher Moors area.

Grey Wagtail – 2 in the Dump Clump and 2 in the garden of the Star Castle staff accommodation on the Garrison.

Brambling – 3 at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors and 1 in the Ringing lanes at Porth Hellick.

Reed bunting – 1 in the Porth Hellick/Higher Moors area.

Thursday (07/11)

Serin – 1 still in the pumpkin field behind the fire station at New Grimsby, Tresco.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 was still by the hut at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Hoopoe  –  1 still on the sandy track behind Popplestone Bay, Bryher.

Cattle Egret – 1 on Tresco.

Great White Egret  – 1 in Porth Hellick Bay.

Whooper Swan – 7 on Tresco.

Pintail – 1 on Tresco.

Shoveler – 8 on Tresco.

Pochard – 6 on Tresco.

Goldeneye – 2 on Tresco.

Grey Plover – 1 Green Bay, Bryher.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 3 Green Bay, Bryher.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on Tresco.

Woodcock– 4  on Tresco.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 5 on Tresco.

Firecrest – 2 on Tresco.

Ring Ouzel – A male in a cattle field near Longstone Cottage.

Black Redstart – 8 Porthloo and 1 on Tresco.

Crossbill – 1 in the Salakee pines

Siskin – 5 on Tresco.

Brambling – 1 in the garden of the Star Castle staff accommodation on the Garrison.

Friday (08/11)

Little Bunting – The ringed bird was still on the Sunnyside Farm Trail.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 was still by the hut at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Hawfinch – 1 flew over Longstone and 1 flew over Telegraph Road by towards Rocky Hill.

Cattle Egret – 2 flew across Pump Road towards Old Town.

Great White Egret  – 1 in Porth Hellick Bay and 1 in Old Town Bay.

Wigeon – 12 on shooters’ Pool.

Cory’s Shearwater – 3 flew past Porth Hellick Bay and 1 off Porth Hellick Down.

Great Shearwater  – 7 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Jack Snipe – 1 on Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 1 on Lower Moors Pool.

Woodcock – 1 on Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Osprey – 1 flew from Porth Hellick House and was later seem fishing on Porth Hellick Pool.

Marsh Harrier – at Porth Hellick.

Kingfisher – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 was near the hut at Porth Hellick Ringing Station, 1  was by Higher Moord pumping station, 3 in the Dump Clump and 3 at Newford.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 calling near the seaward hide at Porth Hellick, 2 at Newford and 2 at Helvear.

Willow Warbler – A “Northern type” was at Newford.

Lesser Whitethroat – An “Eastern type” was at the northern end of the Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Firecrest – 1 on Porth Hellick Loop Trail.

Ring Ouzel – 1 still in the orchard maze on Carn Friars Farm Trail.

Spotted Flycatcher – A very late bird was at Newford.

Black Redstart – 15 at Porthloo, 7 Porth Cressa and 1 on Town Beach/

Siskin  – 12 at Helvear,

Brambling – 1 on the Sunnyside Farm Trail and 1 was at Newford.

Saturday (09/11)

Richard’s Pipit   – 2  flew south over Higher Lanes towards the airfield and 1 was relocated in the grass blow the airfield on the track to Old Town.

Little Bunting – 2 were still on the Sunnyside Farm Trail.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 was still by the hut at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.

Hawfinch – 1 Borough Farm, St. Mary’s, 1 Carn Friars and 1 at Middle town, St. Martin’s.

Cattle Egret – 1 at Green Farm.

Cory’s Shearwater  – 1 flew out from Porth Cressa and 1 off Old town Bay.

Great Northern Diver – 1 over Peninnis.

Barnacle Goose – 1 still in the field by the fire station on St. Martin’s.

Wigeon  – 12 on shooters’ Pool. 

Golden Plover – 28 on the Airfield,

Osprey – 1 at Porth Hellick and later  flew over Longstone.

Marsh Harrier – 1 over Old Town and then Porth Hellick.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station,  1 on Porth Hellick Loop Trail, 2 Higher Moors,1 Lower Moors and 1 by Newford Duck Pond.

Siberian Chiffchaff  – 2 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station, 1 on Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 1 by Newford Duck Pond.

Firecrest – 1  at Longstone.

Ring Ouzel – 1 at Mount Todden Farm.

Mistle Thrush – 1 flew south over Longstone.

Fieldfare – 25 on the airfield.

Black Redstart – 3 in Old Town.

Brambling – 6 in a chicken pen at Parting Carn, 2 in gardens in Hugh Town and  1 in the Standing Stones Field.
