Lesser Yellowlegs – There were now 2  the Great Pool. Tresco which then flew off towards Bryher and were later seen roosting in Appletree Bay, Tresco.

Little Bunting – 1  on the beach at St. Warna’s  Cove St. Agnes.

Hoopoe – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach ranging to Deep Point and 1 still on Tresco.

Gre00at White Egret – 1 flew over Green Farm and landed at Porth Hellick.1 at Innisidgen and 1 Tresco.

Spoonbill – 1 on Green Island, seen on the High Water Special around the islands.

Cory’s Shearwater –  30+ on the High Water Special around the islands, 17past Peninnis between 08:45 & 09:15 and 17 past Horse Point between 08:25 & 09:10.

Great Shearwater – 1 on the High Water Special around the islands, 17past Peninnis between 08:45 & 09:15 and 8 past Horse Point between 08:25 & 09:10.

Sooty Shearwater –1 past Horse Point between 08:25 & 09:10.

Manx Shearwater – 12 on the High Water Special around the islands and 1 past Horse Point between 08:25 & 09:10.

Great Northern Diver –3 on the High Water Special around the islands.

Whooper Swan – 5 flew west over St. Martin’s, probably the same 5 on the Great Pool and 6 on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Pink-f0ooted Goose – 3 still in a field at Pelistry and 8 flew over Porth Hellick.

Barnacle Goose –11 on shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Little Grebe on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – 3 on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Great Skua– 1 past Horse Point between 08:25 & 09:10.

Arctic  Skua – 1 on the High Water Special around the islands.

Puffin – 3 on the High Water Special around the islands.

Dotterel – 1 still on Bryher

Bar-tailed Godwit  – 1 Porthloo.

Osprey0 – 1 flew west over the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Kingfisher – 1 in Town Bay, 1 in Porth Cressa and 1 Porth Hellick Bay.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 calling from Higher Moors,

Wryneck – 1 near the airfield turning circle and 1 on the track behind South /beach, Tresco.

Common  Whitethroat – 1 by Higher Moors Pumping Station.

Yellow-browed Warbler – On St. Mary’s: 1 Porth Hellick Loop, 1 by the entrance to the Garrison Campsite, 1 Holy Vale, 1 Newford Duck Pond, 1 Carn Friars, 1 in the Standing Stones Field. 4 on  Bryher and 1 on Tresco.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in the pine tree near the Post Office, St. Agnes.

Firecrest – 1 Watermill, 1 Carreg Dhu Gardens, 2 on Pool Road, Tresco.

Redwing – 100 between Salakee Farm and Porth Hellick.

Black Redstart – 2 Little Porth, 1 Porth Mellon and 2 west of Gweal Hill, Bryher.

Whinchat – 2  on the path from Old Town to the Airport and 1 near the airfield turning circle.

Grey Wagtail – 1 Lower Moors, 1 Higher Moors 4 Holy Vale and 1 Tresco.

Siskin – 1 over Porth Hellick and 2 on  Bryher,

Brambling – 1 in a garden behind Star Castle on the Garrison and 1 Watermill

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – 6 on the High Water Special around the islands.

Wednesday (23/10)

Scopoli’s Shearwater –  At least 4 amongst the 1100 Cory’s Shearwaters ( photo) identified from photographs, with many more photographs to be checked.

Lesser Yellowlegs – 2 still on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Serin – 1 Porth Hellick, 2 in the pumpkin field behind the fire station at New Grimsby, Tresco

Hawfinch – 1 flew west over Old Town Churchyard,1 flew over Bant’s Carn and 1 flew south over Bry0her dump

Hoopoe – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach, occasionally flying off but always returning.

Snow Bunting – 2 at Rushy Bay, Bryher which flew to Samson.

Great White Egret – 1 flew north past Watermill.

Spoonbill – 1 on Green Island, seen on the High Water Special around the islands.

Cory’s Shearwater –  1100 on the daytime pelagic trip, 13 past Peninnis and 1 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Great Shearwater – 250 on the daytime pelagic trip.

Sooty Shearwater – 7 on the daytime pelagic trip and 1 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Balearic shearwater – 1 on the daytime pelagic trip and  in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Manx Shearwater – 10 on the daytime pelagic trip, 1 past Peninnis and 120 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

European Storm-petrel – 1 on the daytime pelagic trip.

Great Skua – 5 on the daytime pelagic trip and 1 in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Grey Phalarope – 8 just west of the Wolf Lighthouse seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Puffin 2–  in Scilly waters seen from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Great Northern Diver – 1 on the daytime pelagic trip and 1 Crow Sound.

Whooper Swan – 11 Bryher Pool.

Pink-footed Goose – 8 in a field at Pelistry.

Barnacle Goose –14 on shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Dotterel – 1 still on Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Golden Plover –m1 calling over Lower Moors

Grey Plover –1 on Stony Island

Purple Sandpiper – 2 on the Western Rocks.

Whimbrel – 7 on Toll’s Island, 1 flew east past Peninnis and 1 Watermill Cove.

Merlin – 1 over Toll’s Holl, 1 Morning Point and 1 flew over the golf course.

Osprey – 1 over abbey Pool.

Kingfisher – 1 Porth Mellon, 1 Shooters; Pool, 1 Porth Hellick Bay and 1 Town Beach

Raven –1 between Normandy and Mount Todden

Yellow-browed Warbler – On St. Mary’s, 2 Higher Moors/Porth Hellick,1 Lower Moors, 1 Dump allotments,1 by the Garrison Campsite entrance, 1 Holy Vale.  On Bryher 2 in Appletree Glade

Mistle Thrush – 1 by St. Agnes Lighthouse.

Redwing – 100 over Porth Hellick Beach

Black Redstart – 2 Content, 1 Mount  Todden, 3 Porth Mellon, 1 Bryher Boatyard, 1 on Shipman Head Down, Bryher, 1 on the church on Tresco,

Whinchat –2 still on the footpath from the airport to Old Town.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew over Salakee/Tremelethen towards Porth Hellick, 1 over Borough Farm, St. Mary’s.

Siskin – 2 flew over Mount Todden and 1 over Bryher Dump.

Reed Bun0ting –1 Porth Hellick Beach.

Humpback Whale  – 1 on the daytime pelagic trip. From photographs it was identified as the individual nicknamed Pi, which has been seen in Scillonian waters several times over the last few years.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin  – 30 on the daytime pelagic trip.

Thursday (24/10)

White-rumped Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Mellon, then Porthloo and the roosting on Town Beach (photo) before flying off with Turnstones.

Lesser Yellowlegs – 2 still on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Dusky Warbler – 1 on St. Martin’s at the top of Sandy Lane.

Olive-backed Pipit – 1 opposite the Dump Allotments flew into the Dump Compound.

Red-throated Pipit – 1 flew northeast over Popplestone.

Little Bunting – 1 on Tremelethen Trail,

Serin – Still 2 (photo) in the pumpkin field behind Tresco Fire Station and 2 in a weedy field at the bottom of Pelistry Lane.

Common Rosefinch – 1 in the Standing Stones Field.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 at Newford Duck Pond. (photo)

Hoopoe – 1 still on Porth Hellick Beach and what was probably another bird flew  west over King Edward’s Road, Peninnis.

Woodchat Shrike – A very grey juvenile (photo) was in the first field south of Old Town Churchyard.

Hawfinch – 1 behind Old Town Café and 1 over Bryher.

Snow Bunting – 1 on Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Great White Egret – 1 Porth Cressa, 1 Old Town Bay and 1 Porth Hellick Bay.

Cory’s Shearwater – 5 flew past Peninnis in a seawatch between 15:30 and  6:30, 11 past  Horse Point, St. Agnes between 8:10 and 0:40 and 60 past Shipman Head Down. Bryher between 16:45 and 17:45.

Sooty Shearwater – 5 past Horse Point, St. Agnes between 8:10 and 09:40 and 1 past Shipman Head Down. Bryher between 16:45 and 17:45.

Balearic Shearwater – 1 past Shipman Head Down. Bryher between 16:45 and 17:45.

Dotterel – 1 still on Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Woodcock – 1 in the Standing Stones Field and 1 on shipman Head Down Bryher.

Merlin –1 Bryher.

Kingfisher – 1  Porth Cressa.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 at Longstone.

Skylark – 13 over Higher Moors.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 in the Standing Stones Field.

Yellow-browed Warbler – On St. Mary’s: 2 in Holy Vale, 2 Higher Moors, 2 Newford Duck Pond, 1 Standing Stones Field. 2 on Tresco and 1 on Bryher.

Firecrest – 1 Standing Stones Field, 1 Newford duck Pond and 1 Watermill.

Redwing – A noticeable influx of several 100s.

Ring Ouzel – 1 Bryher.

Black Redstart – 2 Porthloo, 1 Maypole, 2 Longstone, 1 Porth Mellon, 1 Pelistry, 1 Star Castle and 2 Hell Bay, Bryher.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on Bryher.

Brambling – 2 in a weedy field at the bottom of Pelistry Lane, 1 Content and 1 Tresco.

Reed Bunting – 1 Hell Bay, Bryher.
