WILSON’S SNIPE  – What was probably the bird seen on Monday was flushed from Lower Moors Pool on to adjacent horse field.

Olive-backed Pipit – 2 by the bulb dump on St. Agnes (photo).

Short-toed Lark  – 1 still in a field on the west side of King Edward’s Road Peninnis.

Hoopoe – 1 still on Bryher.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still in the Standing Stone Field and 1 still at Porth Minnick.

Snow Bunting – 1 Troy Town maze, St. Agnes.

Great White Egret – Stil; 4+ around the islands.

Cattle Egret – 1 flew from Porth Hellick towards Longstone and was later seen on Tresco.

Little Egret – 1 Old Town Bay.

Spoonbill – 1 still on Green Island near Samson.

Little Tern – 1 fishing along Gleaner Beach, Tresco.

Whooper Swan – 8+ around the islands.

Barnacle Goose – 26 on Annet, some with colour rings and neck collars. And later up to 30 on Bryher.

Pink-footed Goose – 1  in a field at Browarth, St. Agnes and later flew over Newford and the airport.

Wigeon – 2 Porth Hellick Pool.

Dotterel  – 1 flew over Longstone and landed on the Golf Course and 3 on Castle Down, Tresco.

Golden Plover –  25 on the airfield/ golf course, 2 flew over Peninnis and 2 were on Castle Down, Tresco.

Jack Snipe – 2 Sandy Lane, 2 on Lower Moors Pool, 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco and  1 over Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Lapwing – 1 in a field at the junction of Porthloo Lane and Telegraph Road.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 3 Porthloo Beach

Whimbrel – 8 on St. Mary’s and 2  St. Agnes.

Osprey – Still  2 around the islands.

Marsh Harrier  – 1 over Annet.

Short-eared Owl – 1 flew from St. Agnes towards the Garrison.

Merlin – 2 around St. Mary’s, 1 St. Martin’s 1 Tresco and 1 St. Agnes/Gugh.                    

Yellow-legged Gill – An adult at Periglis, St. Agnes and a first-winter  on Newford Island, Porthloo.

Kingfisher – 1 on the west side of Peninnis and 1 Old Town Bay.

Wryneck – 1 still on the west side of Peninnis and 1 by the Turk’s Head , St. Agnes.

Skylark – 1 in a field at the junction of Porthloo Lane and Telegraph Road.

Common Whitethroat – 1 on the track to Innisidgen.

Lesser Whitethroat – A “Siberian” type  was on Gugh.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 19 on St. Mary’s, 1 Bryher, 2 St. Agnes and 2  Gugh.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 by the pumping station at Lower Moors.

Firecrest – 10 St. Mary’s, 1 Tresco and 1 St. Agnes.

Fieldfare – 1 Pelistry.

Redwing – A noticeable influx across the islands.

Ring Ouzel – 1 on the west side of Peninnis, 2 Carn Friars Fruit Cage.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 Holy Vale, 1 Content, 1 St. Agnes  and 2 on Gugh.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 Old Town Churchyard, 1 Sandy Lane and 1 Holy Vale, and 1 Porthloo Lane/Telegraph Road junction.

Black Redstart – 1 Town Beach, 1  between he school and church on Tresco, 1 Troy Town Maze, St. Agnes and 1 Cove Vean St. Agnes.

Whinchat – 1 in a field near Porth Hellick Burial Chamber and 1 near the airport terminal.

Grey Wagtail – 3 Parting Carn and 2 Porth Minnick

Reed Bunting – 1 Porth Hellick.

Friday (11/10)

Isabelline Wheatear – 1 on The Garrison (photo).

Black Kite  – 1 Flew in over Telegraph and flew high over the centre of the St. Mary’s.

Rose-coloured Starling – A juvenile at the beach end of the Porth Hellick Boardwalk.

Cory’s Shearwater – 250+ seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III  on the return Journey from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Great Shearwater – 16 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III  on the return Journey from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Manx Shearwater – 4 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III  on the return Journey from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

European Storm-petrel – 4 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III  on the return Journey from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Great Northern Diver  –1 off Watermill Cove.

Osprey –  Still 2 around the islands.

Marsh Harrier – An adult male and a juvenile on the islands.

Short-eared Owl  – ! on Gugh and St. Agnes.

Hawfinch – 1 flew over Tremelethen Farm, 1  flew north over Longstone and it or another flew over Abbey Pool.

Pink-footed Gosse – 1 at Troy Town Farm, St. Agnes and it or another in a field south of Carn Vean.

Pintail – A drake on Par Beach, St. Martin’s.

Wigeon – 2 Porth Hellick Pool.

Dotterel – 1 still on the Golf Course and 1 flew over Wingletang, St. Agnes, 2 were near Beady Pool, St. Agnes.

Lapwing – 1 on the airfield and 1 flew over Content.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 4 Porthloo and 6 St. Agnes.

Whimbrel – 1 Pelistry.

Jack Snipe – 1 still on Sandy Lane and 1 still on Lower Moors Pool.

Woodcock – 1 Pernagie, St. Martin’s.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 Holy Vale.

Wryneck – 1 still on the west side of Peninnis, 1 on the coastal path opposite Toll’s Island and 1 by St. Agnes Quay.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 18 on St. Mary’s, 1 on Tresco, 2  St. Agnes, 2 Bryher and 4 on St. Martin’s.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in bushes near the Turk’s Head pub, St. Agnes.

Grasshopper Warbler  – 1 on the south side of the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Lesser Whitethroat – A possible “Siberian” type at Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s.

Firecrest –11 on St. Mary’s, 1 on Tresco and 1 on St. Agnes.

Ring Ouzel – 1 on Peninnis and 1 Salakee Down.

Spotted Flycatcher – 2 Sandy Lane, 1 McFarland’s Down, 1 Holy Vale, 1 St. Agnes and 1  by the Seven Stones  Track, St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher  – 1 Trenoweth and 1 near The seven Stones Inn, St. Martin’s.

Black Redstart – 1 Porth Cressa, 2 by Colonel George Boscombe Battery, Garrison, 1 near Carn Vean Café and 1 Gimble Porth, Tresco, and 1 near St. Nicholas’s Church Tresco.

Whinchat – 1 by Abbey Pool, Tresco and 1 Chapel Down, St. Martin’s.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 Porth Hellick and 1 Peninnis.

Grey Wagtail – 1 Peninnis

Redpoll – 1 flew over the golf course.

Reed Bunting – 1 Porth Hellick.

Saturday (12/10) 

Olive-backed Pipit – 1 still in the bulb dump on St. Agnes.

Richard’s Pipit – 1 flew low over the airfield and appeared to land towards Salakee

Short-toed Lak – 1 still in a field on the west side of King Edward’s Road Peninnis.

Ros-coloured Starling – ! Still on Porth Hellick Beach and then flew into Carn Friars.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in Appletree Glade, Bryher.

Hoopoe – 1 on South Beach, Tresco.

Corncrake – 1 in fields below Coastguard’ Café, St. Agnes.

Hawfinch – 1 flew over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Great White Egret – Still 4+ across the islands.

Night Heron – A “probable£ flew over Hugh Town towards Porth Cressa at dusk.

Whooper Swan – 8  on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Barnacle Geese – 16 on Gweal, Bryher.

Pink-footed Goose – 1 still in the field adjacent to Track to Carn Vean Café and 1 still  ag Browarth/Porth Coose, St. Agnes.

Shelduck – 3 on Green Island.

Red-breasted Merganser – A female of the Old Quarry, St. Martin’s.

Common Scoter – 1 flew past Giant’s Castle.

Mandarin Duck – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Great Northern Diver  – 1  off Pelistry

Cory’s Shearwater – C300 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian III on the crossing from Penzance to St, Mary’s, 30 off Giant’s Castle, 4 off Peninnis and 1 flew west past Bryher

Great Shearwater – 32 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian III on the crossing from Penzance to St, Mary’s.

Sooty Shearwater – 2 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian III on the crossing from Penzance to St, Mary’s.

Manx Shearwater – 4 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian III on the crossing from Penzance to St, Mary’s.

Common Gull – 1 flew past Deep Point and 2  Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.

Mediterranean Gull – 9 Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.

Lapwing – 2 flew over Pelistry & Longstone and 2what were probably the same 2 were in afield at north end of Telegraph Road.

Golden Plover – 15 flew over the airfield,  4 on the airfield and 1 near the Daymark, St. Martin’s.

Bar=tailed Godwit – 4 Porthloo.

Whimbrel – 3 on Toll’s Island, 1 off Peninnis and 1 Church Point.

Siberian Chiffchaff  – 1 Dump Clump

Garden Warbler – 1 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick.

Firecrest – 1  Old Town Bay near the church, 1 Rocky Hill, 2 Sandy Lane, 2 Carn Friars Lane, 1 King Edward’s Lane, Peninnis, 1 just past the Garrison Football Pitch.1 by Nowhere,1 near the Bulb Dump, St. Agnes, 3 near the Seven Stones Inn, St, Martin’s and 1 Pool Road Tresco.

Ring Ouzel – 2 between St, Warna’s Cove and the Nag’s Head, St. Agnes.

Spotted flycatcher – 1 Content, 3 Holy Vale, 1 Pool Road Tresco, 1 in Appletree Glade, Bryher, 1 Fruit Cage, St. Agnes and 1 behind St. Martin’s Cricket Pitch.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 Holy Vale and 2 Content Lane.

Whinchat – 2 on the footpath from Old Town to the airport terminal.

Black Redstart – 1 Little Porth, 1 on Peninnis Lighthouse and 1 by the Mainland Marketing shed by the airport

Grey Wagtail – 1 in the Parting Carn chicken field and 1 over Sandy Lane.

Brambling – The first report of the autumn. Was of 1 on Harry’s Walls.

Snow Bunting – 1 on Pelistry Beach which flew in from Toll’s Island.
