WILSON’S SNIPE  – 1 seen briefly in the evening at Lower Moors and was identified retrospectively from photographs.

Short-toed Lark  – 1 still in a field on the west side of King Edward’s Road Peninnis.

Hoopoe – 1 still on Bryher.

Ortolan Bunting  – 1 in a weedy field between the Airport and Ennor Close, Old Town.

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in elms on Sandy Lane.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still in the Standing Stone Field and 1 still at Porth Minnick.

Great White Egret – Still 3 or 4 around the islands.

Little Egret – 1 Old Town Bay.

Spoonbill – 1 on Green Island near Samson.

Little Tern – Th-e juvenile was commuting between Porth Cressa and Old Town Bay.

Cory’s Shearwater –  293 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head.

Great Shearwater – 18 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head and  2 off Deep Point.

Sooty Shearwater –  2 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head.

Manx Shearwater –  2 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head.

Great Skua –1 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head.

Yellow-legged Gull – An adult flew past Giant’s Castle

Mediterranean Gull – 2 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head.

Black Tern – 1 in a 2.5 hour seawatch off Peninnis Head.

Dotterel  – 1 early morning at Giant’s Castle, 1 on the Golf Course and 3 on Castle Down, Tresco.

Grey Plover – 1 on Castle Down, Tresco.

Golden Plover –  7 or 8 seen around St. Mary’s.

Lapwing – 1 in a field on Peninnis and 3 over Porth Hellick and what were assumed to be these 3 were seen later on the airfield and Golf Course,

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Little Porth.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 3 at Portaloo and 1 Middle Town Beach, St. Martin’s.

Whimbrel – 1  Old Town Bay.

Marsh Harrier – 1 flew over Carn Vean towards the Riding Stables. And was seen later high above Middle Town, St. Martin’s.

Merlin – 1 over Porth Hellick and 1 Peninnis.

hooper Swan – 1 on Bryher Pool.

Mediterranean Gull – 15 in the bay adjacent to Toll’s Porth.

Kingfisher – 1 shooters’ Pool.

Wryneck – 1 on the west side of Peninnis, 1 near Watermill cottages, 1 on the wall of St. Mary’s Hall Hotel and 1 at Kalimay Point, St. Agnes.

Raven  – 1 St. Martin’s.

Skylark – 9 flew west over Longstone, 2 on the airfield and 3 on Porth Hellick Down.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 calling behind Longstone Cottage,1 at Trenoweth Farm, 2 Shooters’ Pook, 1 on Porthloo Lane in the elms opposite the turning for Mount Flagon, 2 in elms on Sandy Lane, 1 on the track above Seven Stones Inn, St. Martin’s1 in Browarth Fi elds, St, Agnes and 1 calling at Rosevear  Cottage, St. Agnes.

Firecrest – 3 Trenoweth Farm, 1 in the back garden of Longstone Cottage, 1 in elms on Sandy Lane and 1 in Appletree Glade, Bryher.

Spotted Flycatcher – 4 in the elms at the Holy Vale end of Sandy Lane, 2 in the Peninnis allotments. 1 in the Dump allotments, 1 in the Dead Pine Walk on the Garrison, 1 on the path above Holy Vale and 2 in the Middle Town pines, St. Martin’s.

Pied Flycatcher – 5 in the elms at the Holy Vale end of Sandy Lane, 1 Trenoweth Farm and  on St. Martin’s, 1 on the track above Seven Stones Inn & 1 in the Middle Town pines.

Whinchat – 1 Porth Hellick Down. 1 north of Carn Friars and 3 on the airfield.-

Tree Pipit – 1 in the back garden of Longstone Cottage.

Tuesday (08/10) ….

Cory’s Shearwater –  259 past Giant’s Castle (08:00-09:15) and 568 past  Peninnis (08:30- 11:50).

Great Shearwater –  15 past Giant’s Castle (08:00-09:15) and 29  past  Peninnis (08:30- 11:50).

Sooty Shearwater –  8 past Giant’s Castle (08:00-09:15) and  7 past  Peninnis (08:30- 11:50).

Balearic Shearwater –  2 past Giant’s Castle (08:00-09:15) and  1 past  Peninnis (08:30- 11:50).

Manx Shearwater – 3  past Giant’s Castle (08:00-09:15) and  11 past  Peninnis (08:30- 11:50).

Great Skua –  1 past Giant’s Castle (08:00-09:15) and  2 past Peninnis (08:30- 11:50).

Whooper Swan – 1 on the Great Pool, Bryher and was later seen flying towards Tresco.

Barnacle Goose – 3 flew over Porthloo and then Hugh Town Heading towards Tresco and 8 were seen later near Bryher.

Wigeon – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Great Northern Diver – 1 off Innisidgen.

Little Grebe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Lapwing – 3 on the Golf Course

Dotterel – 1 still on the Golf Course (photo).

Golden Plover – 2 flew  past Giant’s Castle, 19 on the Golf Cours & the airfield and 1 on Chapel Down, St. Martin’s.

Jack Snipe – 1 on Lower Moors Pool.

Firecrest – 1 near Porth Hellick House, 1 Carreg Dhu Gardens, 1 Trenoweth, 1 Carn Gwaval, 1 near Bryher Church and 1 Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 High Lanes, 1 Holy Vale, 1 Lower Moors (photo), 1 Standing Stones Field, 1 at the Sandy Lane end of Holy Vale, 2 St. Agnes, 1 Hillside Farm. Bryher and 1 still on the Seven Stones track, St. Martin’s.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 Lower Moors.

Ring Ouzel – 1 Carn Friars , 2 Rabbit Rocks, St. Martin’s and 1 on the north end of Gugh

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 Peninnis Allotments, 2 at Jac-a Ba, 1 Helvear and 1 at the Sandy Lane end of Holy Vale.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 at the Sandy Lane end of Holy Vale, 1 Trenoweth,  1 Helvear and 2 St. Martin’s.

Whinchat – 3 north of the airport and 1 in a field next to the Old Town Inn.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 in a field next to the Old Town Inn.

Wednesday (09/10) 

Short-toed Lark  – 1 still in a field on the west side of King Edward’s Road Peninnis.

Hoopoe – 1 still on Bryher and then flew to Tresco.

Ortolan Bunting  – 1 still in a weedy field between the Airport and Ennor Close, Old Town.

Snow Bunting  – 1  flew from the end of Peninnis towards Old Town and 1 on Castella Down, St. Agnes.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still in the standing Stones Field.

Great White Egret – 1 on Pilchard Pool, blow the Peninnis allotments. 1 Lower Moors Pool, 1 on Teän and 1 on Northwethal.

Cattle Egret – 1 flew over New Grimsby and the Great Pool, Tresco.

Spoonbill – 1 still on Green Island near Samson.

Whooper Swan – 1 on Bryher Pool and 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Barnacle Goose – 1 flew east over Great Par Beach,  8 Shipman Head Down, 16 Gweal  all Bryher and 5 on Annet.

Pink-footed Goose – 1 flew over Buzza towards St. Agnes and landed in Browarth Fields.

Red-breasted Merganser – A female type flew west past Peninnis.

Pintail – A drake on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Wigeon   – 1 Porth Hellick Pool. And 1 on  the Big Pool, St. Agnes.

Great Northern Diver – 1 off Watermill Cove.

Cory’s Shearwater – 30 lew west past Peninnis, 150 past Bryher and 10+ off Great Bay, St. Martin’s.

Great Shearwater – 1 lew west past Peninnis.

Sooty Shearwater – 2 flew west past Peninnis

Dotterel – 1 still on the Golf Course.

Golden Plover – 20 on the Golf Course/airfield , 2 on Chapel Down, St. Martin’s and 1 on Tresco Heliport.

Grey Plover – 1 on an island in Stony Porth, Bryher.

Lapwing – 1 Porth Hellick Beach.

Jack Snipe – 2 on Lower Moors Pool and 2 Sandy Lane.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on an island in Stony Porth, Bryher and 3 near Teän.

Common Gull – 1 Middle Town Beach, St. Martin’s.

Arctic Tern – 1 between Bryher and Tresco.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 in Holy Vale.

Firecrest – 1 on King Edward’s Road, Peninnis, 1 Morning Point, Garrison, 1 Carreg Dhu, 1Higher Moors Pumping Station, 3 on Bryher and1 on St. Martin’s.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 Lower Moors, 1 Peninnis Farm Trail, 1 at the junction of Porthloo Lane/Mount Flagon, 2 on the Garrison, 1 Porth Hellick Loop, 3 on Bryher, 2 on St. Martin’s  and 1 on Tresco.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in elms on Rocky Hill.

Common Whitethroat –1 Shooters’ Pool and 1 near the Seaward Hide, Porth Hellick.

Ring Ouzel – A female in the Dead Pine Walk, Garrison, 1 below  the Woolpack Battery, Garrison, 2 on the coastal path below the Golf Course, 1 Buzza and 2  between the Airport turning circle and Church Point.

Fieldfare – The first of the autumn was 1 that flew over Gugh towards St. Mary’s.

Redwing –  10 on St. Mary’s,  10 Tresco and 15 on St. Martin’s.

Spotted Flycatcher – 2 Peninnis allotments, 2 in the Dead Pine Walk, Garrison, 2 Woolpack Battery, Garrison,1 on the path to Innisidgen, 1  Old Town Beach, 3 on Bryher and 3 on St. Martin’s,

Pied flycatcher – 1 Watermill and 1 St. Martin’s.

Black Redstart – 1 in a weedy field between the Airport & Ennor Close, Old Town and 1 below  the Woolpack Battery, Garrison.

Whinchat – 1 on Pungies Lane, 3 Chapel Down, St. Martin’s and 1 Popplestone Bay, Bryher.

Common Redstart – 1  on Colonel George Boscombe’s Battery, Garrison.

Tree Pipit – 1 in fields behind St. Martin’s Cricket Pitch.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on Pungies Lane and 1 Higher Moors.

Reed Bunting 1 on Wingletang, St. Agnes.
