Snow Bunting –1 on shipman Head Down, Bryher.
Hen Hattier – A ring-tailed bird flew towards Appletree Bay, Tresco.
Cattle Egret – 2 in summer plumage between Longstone and Porth Hellick House.
Little Egret – 1 with full plumes at Porthloo.
Common Scoter – The male was still in Porth Cressa, and it or another was near Taylor’s Island, Porthloo.
Great Northern Diver – A notable count of 62 birds off the Garrison was probably an undercount, with another 20 nearby thought to be a different group.
Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in Lower Moors.
Wheatear – 3 on the coastal path below the airfield.
Black Redstart – 1 near Giant’s Castle and 1 at Porthloo.
Tuesday (26/03)
Cattle Egret – 2 in fields south of Longstone Cottage.
Greylag Goose– 1 still in the iris field at Higher Moors.
Great Northern Diver – 4 off Bar Point.
Purple Sandpiper – 1 on Mincarlo.
Puffin – 20 on Mincarlo.
Manx Shearwater – 12 seen from the Scillonian III in Scilly waters and 1 off Deep Point.
Swallow – The first of the year were 8+ over Abbey Pool, Tresco. 1 flying around the rocks at Porth Arlo (below Tregarthen’s Carpark and 1 Longstone.
Cetti’s Warbler – 1 calling in the Standing Stones Field.
Willow Warbler – The first of the year was one at the north end of wooded trail at Holy Vale.
Wheatear – 3 on Porth Hellick Down, 1 at the end of Peninnis, 2 at Beady Pool, St. Agnes and 1 on Castle Down, Tresco.
White Wagtail – 5 in the Tremelethen chicken field.

Green-winged Teal – The drake was again at Shooter’s Pool, Lower Moors.
Cattle Egret – 2 in flight south east of Longstone Bungalow.
Greylag Goose– 1 still in the iris field at Higher Moors.
Great Northern Diver – 1 Pendrathen.
Mediterranean Gull – 1 in Crow Sound.
Sandwich Tern – 1 on Hats Buoy and 1 between Teän and Guthers.
Manx Shearwater –1 flew west past Old Town Bay.
Whimbrel – 2 Little Porth.
Redwing –1 on the Five Islands School football pitch.
Black Redstart – 2 in a garden behind Star Castle, Garrison.
Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 at Shooter’s Pool, Lower Moors.
Thursday (28/03)
Green-winged Teal – The drake was still at Shooter’s Pool, Lower Moors.
Greylag Goose– 1 still in the iris field at Higher Moors.
Eider –A first-summer drake was in Great Bay, St. Martin’s.
Little Egret – 1 Old Town Bay.
Black-throated Diver – 2 (1 coming into summer-plumage) off Great Bay, St. Martin’s.
Great Northern Diver – 1 in Porth Cressa Bay.
Swallow –1 Little Porth and 1 at Lower Moors.
Willow Warbler – 1 at Sunnyside.
Wheatear –2 at Porthloo.
White Wagtail – 6 on Porth Cressa Beach.
Friday (29/03)
Common Crane – 1 on Bryher. This a very rare bird on Scilly and only the eighth record. There was one year, so it is to be hoped records increase in line with the increase on the mainland.
Green-winged Teal – The drake was still at Shooter’s Pool, Lower Moors.
Hen Harrier – 1 flew towards Teän from St. Martin’s.
Cattle Egret – 2 in fields west of Longstone.
Little Egret – 4 on Tresco.
Greylag Goose– 1 still in the iris field at Higher Moors.
Shoveler – A pair ion the Great Pool, Tresco.
Great Northern Diver – 16 in seen from the Scillonian III in St. Mary’s Sound and 5 in Pentle Bay, Tresco.
Golden Plover – 1 on the Golf Course.
Sandwich Tern – 1 in Pentle Bay, Tresco.
Swallow – 1 at Little Porth. And 1 at Tremelethen.
Cetti’s Warbler – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors.
Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 still at Shooter’s Pool, Lower Moors.
Willow Warbler – 2 singing at Shooter’s Pool, Lower Moors.
Redwing – An obvious influx with 7 at Longstone, 7 at Rocky Hill, 10 over Lower Moors. And 15 on Tresco.
Saturday (30/03)
Crane –1 still on Bryher (photo) was also seen on Tresco.
Hen Harrier –1bwtween the boatyard and Great Porth, Bryher.
Cattle Egret – 1 flew northwest over Sandy Lane and 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.
Greylag Goose– 1 still in the iris field at Higher Moors.
Great Northern Diver – 3 off Bryher.
Lapwing – 1 at Horse Point, St. Agnes.
Sandwich Tern – 1 1 at Pendrathen, 1 at Porthloo, and 1 at Porth Cressa.
Merlin – A female at Porth Hellick House and 1 at Old Town.
Swallow –1 at Parting Carn.
Siberian Chiffchaff –1 still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.
Willow Warbler –An Acredula type was at Tremelethen Farm.
Redwing – An obvious arrival with several 100s reported across the islands.
Wheatear – 1 at Bant’s Carn and 1 by the airport terminal building,
White Wagtail –1 on Bryher.
Yellow Wagtail –1 flew over Porthloo.

Crane –1 still commuting between Bryher and Tresco (photo).

Great Northern Diver – 22 seen from Star Castle on the Garrison and 1 in Porth Cressa.

Short-eared Owl –1 Lower Moors.
Firecrest –1 in Carreg Dhu Gardens.
Cetti’s Warbler – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors.
Redwing – Still lots across the islands.
Willow Warbler –3 trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station.
Black Redstart –1 below Bant’s Carn and 2 at New Grimsby, Tresco
