Little Ringed Plover – 1 on the Golf Course.

Woodchat Shrike – 1 sill in  the pig field at Trewince (photo).

Red-backed Shrike – A female at Middle Town, At. Martin’s.

Night Heron – 1 still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors and 1 over Porth Hellick

Purple Heron – 1 at Lower Moors and 3 around Porth Hellick (photo)

Serin –  1 flew across the pig field at Trewince,

Hoopoe – Still 10+ on St, Mary’s, 4 on Tresco and 1 on St. Martin’s

Nightingale –  1 heard briefly singing near the children’s playground at Porth Cressa.

Red Kite – 1 again seen over several locations on St. Mary’s and also seen over Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Bryher Pool.

Firecrest – 1 still singing in Careg Dhu Gardens.

Ring Ouzel – A male  at the northern end of the Golf Course,  a male at the Garrison Campsite, 2 Hell Bay & 2 Fraggle Rock, Bryher and 1 on Bryher.

Mistle Thrush – 2 on the Golf Course.

Fieldfare – 3 Hell Bay, Bryher and 3 on Tresco,

Redwing – 2 Hell Bay, Bryher.

Wheatear – At least 40  and 25+ at Gimble Porth. Tresco.

Black Redstart –  30+ 0n St. Mary’s and 20+ Tresco.

Common Redstart – 1 in the pig field at Trewince and 1at the east end of the Great Pool, Tresco.

White Wagtail – 1 Little Porth and 4 on the golf course.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 at Gimble Porth. Tresco.

Blue=headed Wagtail – 2 at the Riding Stables and 1at Gimble Porth. Tresco.

Brambling –  19 at Gimble Porth. Tresco.

Friday (04/04)

Woodchat Shrike   –   1 still in the pig field at Trewince.

Hoopoe  –  7+ on St. Mary’s, 5 on St. Martin’s and 2 on Bryher.

Purple Heron  –1 dropped into the reds at Porth Hellick Pool

Nightingale –  1 by Buzza Tower and 1 at MacFarland’s Down.

Hawfinch –  A female in a garden in Holy Vale (photo).

Red Kite –  1 still roaming St. Mary’s.

Golden Pover  – 1 flew over the airport and 1 over the Golf Course

Common Sandpiper  – 1 on Bryher.

Green Sandpiper  – 1 on Bryher.

Jack Snipe – 2 on the Porth Hellick loop trail.

Whimbrel –  7 Toll’s Porth.

Arctic Tern – 2 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the afternoon crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Merlin  – 1 on Bryher and 1 on St. Agnes.

Skylark  – 3 on Bryher and 1 on St. Agnes

Blackcap– Am obvious arrival with 24 on Bryher, “lots” on St, Agnes and 30+ (including 20 in 1 bush), on the Garison late evening on the Garrison, which mirroring the fall of migrants on Bryher also included 30 Chiffchaff, 40 Robin, 20 Song Thrush and a Redwing. Also there were 50 Song Thrush and 20 Robin  on the Golf Course.

Common Whitethroat  – The first of the year was 1 at Bant’s Carn.

Mistle Thrush –  6 on the Golf Course, 1 Carn Friars and 1 on Bryher.

Fieldfare  – 14 on Bryher,

Ring Ouzel  – A female at Bant’s Carn and 3 males on Bryher

Common Redstart  –   A cracking male in the pig field at Trewince, 2 males on Bryher and 1 on Gugh.

Black Redstart– 60+ on St. Mary’s On Bryher there was an amazing 80+ on Bryher, these were part of a large fall of migrants, which as well as species mentioned separately included: 180+Phylloscopus war (mainly Chiffchaff with a few Willow Warbler), 1oo+ Wheatear. 250+ Song Thrush, 90+ Robinsand 50+ Linnets.

Pied Flycatcher – A female was picked up dead, having flown into a window and a male was at Newford duckpond.

Tree Pipit  –   2 on Peninnis, 17 on Bryher and 2 on Gugh

Brambling  – 2 at Pelistry Riding Stables (photo) and 10 on Bryher.

Saturday (05/04)

Purple Heron – 1 in flight at Lower Moors may have landed in the reeds.

Night Heron – 1 in Lower Moors

Nightingale – 1 in the evening on the Dead Pine Walk on the Garrison.

Little Tern – 1 lingering east of Lower Town Quay, St. Martin’s.

Little Ringed Plover – 1 on Bryher Pool.

Red-breasted Merganser – A female in Tresco Channel and it or another was  seen off  St. Martin’s.

Hoopoe – 1 landed on Scillonian III as it approached the islands & then flew off towards Bar Point, 1 near the sports pavilion on the Garrison, 1 near the Porth Hellick Down burial chamber, 1 flew over a garden at Watermill, 2 in  a tree in a garden at Pilot’s Retreat, 3 on Bryher and 1 n St. Martin’s.

Hawfinch – 1 again in a garden in Holy Vale.

Common Whitethroat – A female on Bryher.

Ring Ouzel – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Fieldfare – 1 on  the Garrison and 1 on Bryher.

Redwing – 1 on Bryher.

Common Redstart – A male above the Steval, Garrison, 2 in a garden behind Star Castle and  a female at New Grimsby, Tresco.

Black Redstart – 15 on St. Mary’s and 14 on Bryher

Pied Flycatcher – 1 near the cadet hut on the Garrison and 1 on

 Bryher (photo).

Tree Pipit – 2 between Carn Friars Farm and Carreg Dhu and 1 on Bryher.

Brambling – 4 on St. Martin’s.

Sunday (06/04)

Long-tailed Tit – 1 briefly in the garden of the house “Gunners’ Well” on the Garrison and then flew towards Sallyport. This is a rare bird on Scilly.

Purple Heron – 1 in Lower Moors.

Little Ringed Plover – 1 still on Bryher Pool.

Great White Egret – 1 by Porth Hellick Loop and 1 on Teän.

Hoopoe – 2 on the Garrison Campsite,  1  at Carn Friars,1 in  a pasture above the Peninnis allotments. 1 Trenoweth  and 2 on Bryher Campsite.

Hawfinch – The female was still in the garden at Holy Vale.

Red-breasted Merganser – 1 off Teän.

Marsh Harrier – 1 over Teän.

Golden Plover – 2 on the airfield.

Jackdaw – 2 in a field opposite the riding Stables.

Firecrest – 1 in Lower Moors.

Ring Ouzel – 1 on the Golf Course.

Fieldfare – 2 at Rushy Bay, Bryher.

Redwing – 10 Rocky Hill.

Black Redstart – 20+ 0n St. Mary’s and  8 on  Tresco.

Common Redstart  – 1 still in a garden of the staff accommodation behind Star Castle.

Pied Flycatcher  – 1 still by the sports pavilion on the Garrison.

Tree Pipit – 2 at Trenoweth.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew north over Bryher.
