Sooty Shearwater – 1 on the evening pelagic and 1 in Scilly Waters seen from the Scillonian III.

Manx Shearwater – 100 on the evening pelagic.

Great Skua – 1 on the evening pelagic.

Pomarine Skua – 10 on the evening pelagic.

Little Egret – 1 Porthloo.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 20 on the evening pelagic.

Tuesday (20/08) 

European Storm-petrel – 120 on an evening pelagic 8 km southwest pf St. Mary’s.

Cory’s Shearwater – 18 on the evening pelagic.

Great Shearwater – 100+ on the evening pelagic.

Sooty Shearwater – 2 on the evening pelagic.

Manx Shearwater – 1000+ on the evening pelagic.

Great Skua – 3 on the evening pelagic.

Green Sandpiper –3 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Whimbrel – 2 on Porth Hellick Beach.

Little Egret – 1 on Porth Hellick Beach.

Kingfisher – 1 at Porth Hellick and 1 at Lower Moors.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 in the trees opposite Nowhere in Old Town.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 15 on the evening pelagic.

Blue Shark –  on the evening pelagic.

Wednesday (21/08)

Pectoral Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Cory’s Shearwater  – 3 off the airport turning circle and 1 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian !!! on the journey from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 3 on the return trip.

Great Shearwater  – 103 seen om Scilly waters from Scillonian !!! on the return journey from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Balearic  Shearwater – 2 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian !!! on the journey from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Sabine’s Gull – 1 seen in Scilly waters from Scillonian !!! on the journey from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Mediterranean Gull – 25 on Merrick Island and 7 on Tresco.

Shoveler – 2 on Tresco

Tufted Duck – 1 on Tresco

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Tresco

Little Egret – y on Tresco

Thursday (22/08)

South Polar Skua  – `1 on an evening pelagic 8 km southeast of St. Mary’s (photo). This the third record this year. There have been 6 birds seen from the MV Sapphire in the last 2 years, which is well over 50% of all the British records,

Pectoral Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Cattle Egret – 10 lifted from Samson and flew towards Bryher/Tresco.

Blue Shark – 1  120 lb individual was caught, tagged and  released on the evening pelagic.
