Pintail – A drake on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull – A second-summer And a first-summer on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Pomarine Skua – A first-summer bird on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock (photo).

Common Tern – 6 near Annet

Wood Sandpiper – 1 on the Porth Hellick Pool (photo)

White Wagtail – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 30+ on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Blue Shark – 1 caught, tagged and released on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Tuesday (25/06)

Wood Sandpiper – 1 on the Porth Hellick Pool.

Mediterranean Gull – 4 on Stony Island.

Common Tern – A survey on Annet by the IOSWT and Natural England found 5 Common Tern nests with 25 birds calling overhead,

Wednesday (26/06)

Sooty Shearwater – 1 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the return trip from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

.Risso’s Dolphin – 1 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the  trip from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 10 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian III on the  trip from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 20 on the return trip in the evening.

Thursday (27/06)

Marsh Harrier  – A large raptor with “tatty plumage” which was seen distantly, heading towards Porth Hellick House, was thought to be this species.

Common Scoter – 2 on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Manx Shearwater – 50 on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

European Storm-petrel – 11 on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Bar-tailed Godwit  – 2 on Green Island.

Whimbrel  – 5 on Green Island.

Mediterranean Gull  –  2 on Stony Island and 6 on Pentle rock, Tresco.

Sandwich Tern –  4 on Stony Island.

Common Tern – 2 on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Cetti’s Warbler – 2 fledglings at Higher Moors.

Blue Shark – 1 caught, tagged and released on an evening pelagic 5 km south west of Bishop Rock.

Saturday (29/06)

Mediterranean Gull – 12 on Stony Island.

Grasshopper Warbler –  2 or 3 reeling in the evenings at Holy Vale.

Sunday (30/06)

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Stony Island.

Whimbrel – 2 on Green Island.

Mediterranean Gull – 13 on Stony Island and 1 on Pentle Rock.

Sandwich Tern – 2 on Stony Island.

Common Tern – 1 on Stony Island.

Redpoll – 2 adults and 3 juveniles by the tennis court on Bryher.
