Pintail – A drake on Porth Hellick Pool
Puffin – 5 seen from the Scillonian III in Scilly waters.
Manx Shearwater – 3 seen from the Scillonian III in Scilly waters.
Short-eared Owl – 1 over the Standing Stones and adjacent fields.
Cetti’s Warbler – 1 by the start of the Porth Hellick Loop Trail and 1 by the pool in the Standing Stones Field.
Grey Wagtail – 1 still in Holy Vale
Large Tortoiseshell – A “tatty” individual in the Longstone area.
Tuesday (19/03)
Green-winged Teal – The drake was still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.
Greylag Goose – 1 still in the Iris field at Higher Moors.
Wednesday (20/03)
Green-winged Teal – The drake was still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.
Serin – 1 flew over Deep Point.
Short-eared Owl – 1 hunting by the Project Pool.
Manx Shearwater – 50 seen from the Scillonian III west of the Wolf Lighthouse.
Puffin – 1 seen from the Scillonian III west of the Wolf Lighthouse.
Sandwich Tern – 1 on Bacon Buoy and 1 off Bar Point.
Little Egret – 1 Porthloo.
Sand Martin – 1 in off the sea at Blue Carn and 3 over Lower Moors.
Black Redstart – 1 on the rocks below the airfield turning circle.
Brimstone – What is assumed to be the same male that has been around for a while, was seen again on Sandy Lane
Large Tortoiseshell – 1 in the fields between Longstone and Sandy Lane. From the state of wear, it was confirmed that there have been 2 different individuals.
Fin Whale – 1 seen from the Scillonian III just west of the Wolf Lighthouse and 1about half mile south Deep Point.
Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – 1 between the Seven Stones Reef and the islands
Thursday (21/03)
Purple Sandpiper –20+ on Rosevear and 1 on Gorregan, Western rocks (photo)_
Puffin – 6 on Rosevear and 6 on Melledgan, Western Rocks.
Hen Harrier – A ring-tailed bird on the west of St. Martin’s.
Short-eared Owl – 1 hunting over Higher Moors
Wheatear – 1 on the coastal path at Porth Hellick Down and 1 on the west side of the airfield.
Friday (22/03)
Green-winged Teal – The drake was still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.
Great Northern Diver – 2 between St. Agnes and the Garrison.
Saturday (23/03)
Green-winged Teal – The drake was still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.
Greylag Goose – 1 still in the Iris field at Higher Moors. What was probably the same bird flew over Hugh town calling at 00:42.
Common Scoter – The drake was still ion the sea at Porth Cressa
Great Northern Diver –
Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 was still at Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors.
Wheatear – 1 by the weather station at the airport and 1 at Deep Point.
Sunday (24/03)
Greylag Goose – 1 still in the Iris field at Higher Moors.
Shoveler – A pair on the Great Pool, Treco.
Pochard – Amale on Abbey Pool and 2 males on the Great Pool, Tresco.
Common Scoter – The drake was still in Porth Cressa Bay.
Great Northern Diver – 1 in Porth Cressa Bay and 1 in Pentle Bay, Tresco.
Sandwich Tern – 2 in Pentle Bay, Tresco,
Purple Sandpiper – 6 on Green Island, Samson,
Black Redstart – 1 at Little Porth.
White Wagtails – 2 in a garden behind Start Castle on the Garrison, 1 in a field south of Longstone Bungalow and 1 in the woodpile above Pentle Beach, Tresco.
