Night Heron – 2 flew over Porth Mellon towards Porthloo.
Marsh Harrier – 1 between Porth Hellick and Tremelethen.
Turtle Dove – 1 still in the ploughed field at Normandy Corner.
Great Northern Diver – A summer=plumaged bird was off Deep Point.
Pintail – A drake on Porth Hellick Pool was displaying to a female mallard.
Whimbrel – 3 Porth Killier, St. Agnes.
Wednesday (10/05)
Laughing Gull – The adult was back in the Lesser Black-backed Gull colony on Gugh.
Short-toed Lark – 1 in the evening on the airfield.
Turtle Dove – 2 near the coastguards’ cottages on St. Agnes.
Great Northern Diver – 1 flew from behind Toll’s Island towards St. Martin’s.
Pintail – A drake just west of the Daymark on St. Martin’s.
Whimbrel – 1 Porth Killier, St. Agnes.
Thursday (11/05)
Laughing Gull – The adult was still in the Lesser Black-backed Gull colony on Gugh.
Nightingale – 1 on Innisidgen Hill.
Wryneck – 1 in the pines above Wine Cove, St. Martin’s.
Golden Oriole – A female was at Jac-a-ba, Trenoweth.
Bullfinch – 1 near the Wildlife Trust sheds at Trenoweth, this a scarce species on Scilly.
Cuckoo – 1 calling in the Dead Pine Walk on the Garrison and 1 heard in the holy Vale area.
Wood Sandpiper – 1 flew over Longstone late evening.
Whimbrel – 2 on Blockhouse Beach, Tresco.
Turtle Dove – 2 still near the coastguards’ cottages on St. Agnes.
Friday (12/05)
Laughing Gull – The adult was still in the Lesser Black-backed Gull colony on Gugh and then seen on St. Mary’s in the late afternoon flying over Star Castle towards Porth Cressa.
Great northern Diver –1 in Pentle Bay, Tresco and 3 near Annet.
Tufted Duck – The drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Pochard – 5 on Tresco.
Golden Plover – 2 on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.
Whimbrel –1 on Tresco.
Common Swift –11 over Tresco.
Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew from Wingletang Down towards Cove Vean.
