Tuesday (10/05) 

Golden Oriole – The male was still in Carreg Dhu Gardens.

Turtle Dove – 1 flew north over the Garrison and 2 were still in the field at the top of Sandy Lane.

Garganey – The male was still on the Great Pool, Tresco. 

Shelduck – 3 adults and 2 young on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Shoveler – A drake on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – A male on Abbey Pool and a female with 6 young on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Scaup – The female was on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Little Grebe – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 1 was in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 in Green Bay, Bryher.

Hobby – 1 flew over Normandy.

Whimbrel – 11 flew in from the south and headed over Porth Cressa, 11 on Tresco and 6 were in Green Bay, Bryher.

Common Sandpiper – 2 flying around the east side of Porth Cressa.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on Tresco.

Ring Ouzel – 1 was still in a field along the lane to Salakee Farm.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 on Lower Broome Platform, the Garrison, 1 at Parting Carn, Tresco and 1 on St. Agnes

Wednesday (11/05)

Golden Oriole – 1 was heard singing at the north end of Lower Moors and an adult female/ 1st summer male was between Barnaby Lane & Cove Vean on St. Agnes.

Turtle Dove – 2 were still in the field at the top of Sandy Lane.

Garganey – A drake was on Porth Hellick Pool (photo).

Scaup – The female was still on Abbey Pool, Tresco (photo).

Wigeon – A pair northwest past Porth Askin and landed on the Big Pool, St. Agnes.

Pochard – A Drake was on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Swift – 2 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Ring Ouzel – 1 was still in a field along the lane to Salakee Farm.

Whinchat – A female near Porth Hellick Down burial chamber.+

Thursday (12/05)

Garganey – After showing until dusk yesterday, there was no sign of the drake on Porth Hellick Pool until it appeared late morning. It transpired it had spent an hour on a tiny pool on Mount Todden Farm, where it was being fed by the owner, alongside the farmyard ducks!

Scaup – The female was still on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Shoveler – 3 on Tresco.

Pochard – 2 females with young on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 3 on the crossing from St. Mary’s to Bryher, 2 off Samson and 2 off Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on the scrape behind the Dump Clump before it flew off towards Lower Moors.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool (photo).

Turtle Dove – 2 were still in the field at the top of Sandy Lane.

Swift – 2 on Tresco.

Ring Ouzel – After it was no seen in the morning it reappeared in its usual field along the lane to Salakee Farm in the afternoon.

Friday (13/05)

Garganey – The drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.

Wigeon –A drake on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Shoveler – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Scaup – The female was still on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – 2 females with 6 young on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 2 on Bryher.

Turtle Dove – 2 were still in the field at the top of Sandy Lane.

Swift – 3 over Tresco Stores.

Saturday (14/05)

Golden Oriole – a female flew northeast over the Garrison.

Garganey – The drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.

Great Northern Diver – 1 on the sea north of Carn Near, Tresco.

Turtle Dove – 1 was still in the field at the top of Sandy Lane, 1 was on wires by the pumping station at Porth Hellick and 1 at Telegraph.

Hobby – 1 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Cuckoo – 1 heard off Borough road, Tresco.

Tree Pipit – 1 in a garden behind Star Castle.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew north over the Golf Course.

White Wagtail – 1 in a ploughed field next to Bay View Terrace, Porth Mellon.

Spotted Flycatcher – 3 in the Garrison Pines and 1 at Content .
