Lesser Yellowlegs – 1 was on Abbey Pool, Tresco, this is the second bird this year following the 1 found at Porth Hellick in May.
Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 9 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s (photo).
European Storm-petrel – 50 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.
Great Shearwater on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s (photo). 1 was seen from the Scillonian III on the crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Cory’s Shearwater – 3 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.
Sooty Shearwater – 3 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.
Sabine’s Gull – 2 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s (photo).
Great Skua – 2 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.
Ringed Plover – 120 on South Beach, Tresco.
Wood Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Common Sandpiper – 1 Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Dunlin – 14 on South Beach, Tresco.
Sanderling – 150 on South Beach, Tresco.
Blue shark – 1 over 7 ft long was, caught, tagged and released on the evening pelagic trip.

Lesser Yellowlegs – 1 was still on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Long-tailed Skua – A first-summer bird on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St.Mary’s (photo).
Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 20+! on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s 2, including 6 permanently on view. This equals the record count on a Scilly pelagic trip.
After a very slow start to the pelagic season we have now seen Wilson’s Storm-petrels on the last 11 pelagic trips, with about 80 birds in total so far.
European Storm-petrel – 250 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.
Green Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool, 1 flew east over the Garrison.
Common Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Wood Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Little Egret – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Kingfisher – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
Short-billed Common Dolphin –15 seen on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St.Mary’s.
Porbeagle shark – On the evening pelagic trip a very large individual swam round the boat, but managed to avoid capture.
