Tuesday

A Little Ringed Plover (the fourth this Spring) was sound recorded flying over the Garrison at 03:34 and the partial summer-plumaged Grey Plover still on Porthloo Beach.

Golden Oriole was at the junction of Porthloo Lane & Rocky Hills, the Jackdaw was still on the Garrison and a Cuckoo was at Giant’s Castle.

Wednesday

The place to be in the evening was the Airfield, where there were a stunning male Red-backed Shrike, an equally smart male Common Redstart and a Short-toed Lark.

The the partial summer-plumaged Grey Plover still on Porthloo Beach, a Merlin was over Rosehill and a Hobby was over the Garrison, with it or another at Giant’s Castle. 

Golden Oriole  were singing behind a cottage at Holy Vale and a another was in the northeast corner or the Golf Course.

2 Swift were over Holy Vale, the Jackdaw was still on the Garrison and a Turtle Dove was at Maypole.
