Sunday
A Great Northern Diver was in Porthcressa Bay and the Pink-footed Goose was still on the Big Pool, St. Agnes.
3 Mediterranean & 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were at Little Porth and a Glaucous Gull flew over Porth Thomas and the landed in Porthcressa before drifting off east over Peninnis. There were later sighting from St. Agnes and Porth Hellick Bay, which may have been different birds.
The 2 Chough were back at Darrity’s Hole, Deep Point and 4 Fieldfare, 4 Blackcap & 4 Goldcrest were at Longstone.
2 Black Redstarts were at Little Porth, another was at Porthcressa, 2 were at Porthloo and 1 was at St.Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes.
Monday
A boat trip to Tresco tempted a few birders to visit the island and reports were: 2 Great Northern Diver and 10 Common Scoter were in Pentle Bay.
55 Teal, a Shoveler, 3 Wigeon, a drake Scaup & c40 Coot were on the Great Pool and on the Abbey Pool there were 3 Pochard, a female Tufted Duck, a Pintail & a Little Egret.
A ring-tailed Hen Harrier was seen over Tresco & St. Agnes, also on St. Agnes the Pink-footed Goose & 2 Common Snipe were on the Big Pool, a Common & 2 Mediterranean Gull were at Porth Killier and a Woodcock was at Lower Town.
On St. Mary’s a Great Northern Diver was in Hugh Town Harbour, 1 was at Porth Mellon, 1 was at Porthloo, 1 was off Carn Morval and 5 were off Bar Point. A Merlin was at Mount Todden, a Woodcock flew over the school playing fields and a Black Redstart was on Porthloo Beach.
2 Spoonbill were on Samson.
