Saturday (04/01)
On Tresco the 6 Brent Geese were in Rushy Porth, the Pink-footed Goose was still by St. Nicholas’s Church, 3 Shoveler, 2 Wigeon, a drake Pintail, and the drake Scaup were still on the Great Pool, 7 Great Northern Diver were in Pentle Bay & 5 were off Carn Near and a Black Redstart was at New Grimsby.
On St. Mary’s the Black-necked Grebe was still in the Harbour, the ring-tailed Hen Harrier flew over the school, the 2 Chough were on Porth Hellick Down, a Raven was at Bar Point and a Firecrest was at Longstone.
There was a report of a PALLAS’S WARBLER from a back garden overlooking the Dump Allotments. Although seen by a non-birder, she gave a good description including the crown stripe.
Sunday (05/01)
3 Brent Geese and 3 Great Northern Diver were on the sea, viewed from the Bar. Pendrathen area. Another Great Northern Diver & the Black-necked Grebe were in Hugh Town Harbour and 2 Spoonbill were on Green Island, Samson.
A Short-eared Owl was on Peninnis, the 2 Chough were on Toll’s Island before flying to Porth Hellick Down and a Black Redstart was at Porthloo.
Monday (06/01)
Very few reports, a Woodcock & an Owl species were flushed from Broom Platform, the 2 Chough were at Deep Point and a Firecrest was at Sallyport.
