Wet and windy all day with very few birders left on the islands and a boat only to Tresco, so less reports.
The Pink-footed Goose was still on Tresco Heliport, 4 Shelduck, 2 Pochard, a Tufted Duck & a Scaup were on the Great Pool, Tresco. a female type Wigeon was on Shooters’ Pool, lower Moor, a Woodcock & a Common Gull were at Old Town and 25 Stock Dove were at the riding Stables. The rain and easterly wind had obviously dropped birds in, a Swallow a late Willow Warbler, 50+ Chiffchaffs, a Siberian Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap, 50+ Goldcrest, a Ring Ouzel, a Mistle Thrush, a Common Redstart, 12 Siskin and lots of finches & Pipits all just in the vicinity of the Garrison Campsite. Another Mistle Thrush was at the Riding Stables, a Common Redstart was at the site of the Old School and a Siskin was in a garden at Jackson’s Hill. 2 Yellow-browed Warbler were in Lower Moors and 1 was at Newford Duck Pond. Black Redstart were still arriving, 25+ were on St. Mary’s & 3 were at New Grimsby, Tresco.
