St Mary’s – A Common Crossbill was found in gardens at The Star Castle early morning. A Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Spotted Flycatchers and 6 Blackcaps were at dead pine walk and a Whitethroat and a Wheatear were on Peninnis. A possible Barred Warbler was in the allotments at Porthcressa with 4-5 Blackcaps. A Turtle Dove was in a garden at High Lanes and 3 Crossbills were found at Longstone including a smart male. These may have been the same three that flew over Telegraph a short time later. Ringing highlights at Porth Hellick included 4 Firecrests, 5 Reed Warblers and a Cetti’s Warbler. A Wryneck was on a stone wall opposite the health centre and a Pied Flycatcher was Kittydown. A Hobby was over Longstone and 30 White Wagtails were in a ploughed field at Higher Moors
Tresco – The Lesser Yellowlegs was still on the Great pool and 12 Med Gulls were in the Tresco channel
Bryher – A Dotterel was on Shipman Head
