Friday: A Grey Wagtail was at Porth Hellick Pool and an adult & 3 juvenile Mediterranean Gulls were in Porthcressa Bay.
Saturday: 4 Common Swifts were over Hugh Town, a Crossbill flew over the Garrison campsite, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull was at Morning Point, and an adult & 5 juvenile Mediterranean Gulls were at Porthloo. Birds seen on the evening sharking trip included 30 European Storm-petrels and a Great Skua. There were many sharks around and 2 Blue sharks were caught, tagged and released. Also seen in the water were:40+ Common Dolphins, a Sunfish and an Albacore Tuna.
Sunday: 2 Mediterranean Gulls & 2 Sandwich Terns were sat on rocks in Porthcressa Bay, 6 Mediterranean Gulls & a Curlew were at Porthloo and 3 Common Swifts were over the island. On Tresco there were 10 Ringed Plovers, a Dunlin, a Common Sandpiper, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Curlew and 3 Whimbrels. Also seen were 2 juvenile Yellow-legged Gulls, a Mediterranean Gull and 4 Sandwich Terns.
Monday: A Common Sandpiper was in Lower Moors and a Common Gull & 3 Mediterranean Gulls were at Bar Point. The evening pelagic 6 miles southeast of St. Mary’s produced 20 European Storm-petrels, a Wilson’s Storm-petrel, a Great Skua, 100+ Common Dolphins, 3 Sunfish and 2 Blue sharks which were caught, tagged and released.
