St. Mary’s – 5 Common Sandpipers were on Porthcressa Beach. 10 Greenshanks, a Redshank, 2 Green Sandpipers and 4 Dunlins were on Porth Hellick Pool.
6 Green Sandpipers and a Common Snipe were on Lower Moors Pool.
Bryher – A Whimbrel, 11 Ringed Plovers, 4 Dunlins, a Green Sandpiper, a Common Swift and a Northern Wheatear.
Inter-island waters – 2 Mediterranean Gulls and 9 Little Egrets were in Tresco Channel.
At sea – 15 European Storm-petrels, 3 Cory’s, 1 Great, 1 Balearic and 4 Sooty Shearwaters were seen from the Scillonian III on the crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
31 Cory’s, 3 Great, 3 Balearic & 4 Sooty Shearwaters and a Fin Whale were seen from the Scillonian III on the return crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.
The short-range pelagic trips continued to produce the goods with the evening’s count of 2 Wilson’s Storm-petrels, 20+ European Storm-petrels, 3 Cory’s Shearwaters, 8 Great Shearwaters, 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 9 Common Dolphins and an Ocean Sunfish.
